Police inspector KM Gadhvi said the body of Nitin Parmar was found hanging from the ceiling of his house on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.

“Prima facie it is a case of suicide. The postmortem report to ascertain the exact cause of his death is awaited. The suicide note is under forensic investigation,” Gadhvi said.

The body of a 28-year-old man was found hanging at his residence at Chorwad village in Gujarat’s Junagadh district which police suspect is a case of suicide, an official said on Sunday.

The body of a 28-year-old man was found hanging at his residence at Chorwad village in Gujarat’s Junagadh district which police suspect is a case of suicide, an official said on Sunday. A purported suicide note found in the possession of the deceased stated that he was taking the extreme step due to his in-laws and a Congress MLA. He said the police also recovered a purported suicide note from Parmar’s possession which mentioned three names, including his father-in-law and mother-in-law, and MLA Vimal Chudasama. Acknowledging that the deceased Parmar was his relative, Chudasama alleged it seemed to be a case of murder but shown as suicide in a conspiracy to defame him. “The man who mentioned my name in the suicide note has not interacted with me in the last two years. He is the son of my aunt. Looking at the injury marks on his body, his family believes that he has been murdered. I think the suicide note is a conspiracy against me.
The ODI cricket World Cup got underway at the world's biggest cricket stadium in India on Thursday (October 5). A repeat of the epic 2019 WC final, organisers had anticipated the crowd to fill the 130,000-seat Narendra Modi Stadium but images and videos showed the playing arena wearing an eerie, deserted look.

Despite the tickets being available at a lowly cost of Rs 1,000 ($12) and the organisers offering free tickets to thousands, the stadium appeared empty as both New Zealand and England players resumed their rivalry without much noise and colour. As soon as the images circulated on social media platforms of the empty stadium, the netizens slammed the BCCI for its poor planning and ticketing administration, in the lead-up to the marquee event.

Some called out BCCI for persisting with a venue that is difficult to fill due to its sheer size, while others said a venue like Wankhede or Eden Gardens would have been better, owing to their storied history.

Tata Group, a prominent Indian conglomerate, is reportedly nearing an agreement to acquire a factory in Karnataka, India, owned by Wistron Corp., an Apple supplier. This move could potentially make Tata Group the first Indian company to manufacture iPhones. According to sources cited by Bloomberg, the acquisition could be finalized as early as August and is estimated to be valued at over $600 million. The factory, currently employing over 10,000 workers, is responsible for assembling Apple's iPhone 14.

While Wistron plans to exit the business, Tata Group has ambitious plans to ship approximately $1.8 billion worth of iPhones from this facility. Initially, Wistron aimed to achieve similar production levels to gain financial incentives from the Indian government.

This development occurs as several U.S. tech companies explore diversifying their hardware manufacturing beyond China. The ongoing trade tensions between the United States and China, coupled with restrictions imposed on tech companies by both countries, have prompted firms to seek alternative production locations. Additionally, China's strict COVID-19 lockdowns, part of its zero-COVID policy, have significantly impacted Apple suppliers, leading to disruptions in the supply chain. In October 2022, for instance, workers from Apple's largest iPhone assembly factory in Zhengzhou reportedly escaped due to a lockdown.

Apple, Tata Group, or Wistron have issued no official statements regarding the acquisition. Nevertheless, the Indian government has recently introduced various programs to encourage local manufacturing. Simultaneously, Apple has been actively seeking to diversify its iPhone production beyond China, exploring opportunities in other South Asian countries. Other major Apple suppliers, such as Foxconn Group and Pegatron Corporation, have also expanded their production capabilities in response to this shift.
