The helicopter crashed in a ball of flames in the club's car park on Saturday after a Premier League match.

Officials from the club and Vichai's company, duty-free giant King Power International, declined to comment on whether he was in the helicopter when it spiralled out of control and crashed around an hour after the game.

According to eyewitnesses, the helicopter just cleared the top of the stadium before it started to spin. It then plummeted to the ground and burst into flames.

A spokesman for the Midlands club said on Saturday: "We are assisting Leicestershire Police and the emergency services in dealing with a major incident at King Power Stadium."

John Butcher, who was near the stadium at the time of the crash, told the BBC his nephew saw the helicopter spiral out of control apparently due to a faulty rear propeller.

"Within a second it dropped like a stone to the floor...Luckily it did spiral for a little while and everybody sort of ran, sort of scattered. As far as we are aware nobody around the car park was caught up in this problem."

In Thailand, officials at King Power said they could not yet comment on the crash or say whether Vichai had been aboard.

Vichai is a huge favourite with the fans after he bought the unfancied side from central England in 2010 and they went on to stun the soccer world by winning the league title in 2016.

According to Forbes magazine he is the fifth richest person in Thailand with an estimated net worth of $4.9 billion.

Leicestershire Police said a team from the Department for Transport's Air Accidents Investigations Branch had taken charge of the investigation into the cause of the crash.

FIFA will raise the prize money for the Women's World Cup from $15 million to $30 million starting with next year's edition in France, president Gianni Infantino announced on Friday, though critics immediately said the increase was not enough.

Following a FIFA council meeting in Rwanda, the Swiss-Italian also said that $20 million would be made available for pre-tournament preparations, meaning that $50 million in total would be allocated across the 24 participating nations.

The prize money is double the amount awarded in the 2015 World Cup in Canada and for the first time clubs will be rewarded for their players taking part in the tournament, as is the case in the men's edition.

"It's a very important message for women's football. It will certainly boost this World Cup even more," Infantino told a news conference.

However, global footballers' union FIFpro said the changes were not enough to redress the inequality between men's and women's football worldwide.

"FIFPro notes the willingness of FIFA to increase prize money for the Women's World Cup and make structural improvements to support women’s football. However, despite these changes football remains even further from the goal of equality for all World Cup players regardless of gender," a FIFpro statement said.

"In reality, the changes actually signify an increase in the gap between men’s and women’s prize money. This regressive trend appears to contravene FIFA’s statutory commitment to gender equality.

"We strongly support our members, women's national team players in multiple countries, who have written to FIFA in recent days expressing their dismay about the distribution of prize money."

Players' unions in Australia, Norway, Sweden and New Zealand had written to world soccer's governing body to protest that even with women's prize money being doubled, the rewards in the men's game still dwarf the new amounts.

The total prize money for this year's men's World Cup in Russia was $400m, with champions France receiving $38m.

The letter from Australia's PFA argued: "For the group stage alone, Socceroos players have shared $2.4 million for the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018, while the Matildas will only share $0.225 million, less than 10 percent.

"If the Matildas are to become World Champions, they will only receive 50 percent of what the Socceroos received for qualifying for Russia."

US&nbsp;women, the world's most successful squad and winners of three of the seven Women's World Cups, also called for an increase in prize money.

"The USWNT Players Association is thankful for the women and men who tirelessly work on a daily basis to advance women’s football within institutions like FIFA and US&nbsp;Soccer, as well as within fellow unions like FIFPro and its members," it said in a statement.

"The common objective of all these institutions - both management and labour - is ultimately to grow the game. Substantial investment is required to overcome generations of inequality and discrimination in the women's game, to make football the world’s preeminent sport for women and girls.

"We are committed to ... have continuous dialogue around how FIFA and US&nbsp;Soccer can fulfil their respective statutory obligations of gender equality, including the prize money for the 2019 World Cup, which is an area we feel immediate and impactful investment can be made.”

Infantino said that FIFA was committed to consistently increasing investment and cited the launch of a new strategy for women's football earlier this month which included plans to strengthen the game in all 211 member associations.

"Clearly... we want to invest more and earmark more for women's football and not only for the best 24 teams in the world who play the World Cup, for which we have increased significantly the allocations and prize monies, but we have a duty to do so all over the world," he said.

"Also in these regulations there are specific requirements for all associations in the world that in order to receive the necessary grants they have to organise women's competitions, otherwise they don't receive these grants."

FIFA approves prize money increase for 2019 Women's World Cup

Champions Bayern Munich cut the gap to leaders Borussia Dortmund but were far from impressive in their 2-1 victory at Mainz 05 on Saturday as they made it three wins in three matches in all competitions following their early-season dip in form.

Leon Goretzka put the visitors ahead in the 39th minute after an earlier effort by Thiago Alcantara was ruled out following the use of the video assistant referee.

Mainz did not have to wait long for an equaliser, with Jean-Paul Boetius striding into the box in the 48th to drill in a cross after being left completely unmarked.

Spaniard Thiago got his goal in the 62nd minute to put Bayern back in front and Javi Martinez hit the woodwork a little later as Bayern hung on to their slim lead and the three points.

"It was a hard-earned win for us and it was certainly not as sparkling as we had hoped it would be," Bayern coach Niko Kovac told reporters.

"But in the current situation we are happy with the three wins in a row. It was still a deserved win and we hope it continues like that."

Bayern, who have been under pressure after a dip in form early in the season, lacked a clear game plan, especially in attack, and never really hit top speed against lowly Mainz.

"I was not nervous after they equalised," said Kovac. "But I was angry because we did not do what we set out to do after the break. We are caught napping during a cross and then bring ourselves into difficulty."

The champions are now on 19 points in second place, two behind Dortmund, who drew 2-2 against Hertha Berlin.

The Bavarians have now won all three games in all competitions since club bosses launched a verbal attack on the media last week, blaming them for what they said was unfair reporting during their four-game winless run.

Bayern Munich edge Mainz 2-1, close gap to leaders Dortmund

Manchester City's Spanish manager Pep Guardiola says it would be impossible for him to ever coach another team in England and says he is now a Mancunian for life.

Guardiola, who led City to the Premier League title last season with a record points tally of 100, signed a contract extension with the champions earlier this year that will take him to the end of the 2020-21 campaign.

One of the most successful managers in world football, Guardiola has been known to keep his coaching stints brief, spending four years at Barcelona and three at Bayern Munich.

However, even if he ended his stay at City after five years in 2021, he said he could not envisage one day managing a Premier League rival.

"I will be Mancunian for rest of my life. I will (always) be a Manchester City fan, it would not be possible to train another team in England like Manchester City," Guardiola said in an interview with BBC Radio 5Live.

"I feel beloved from the people here... I want to make a better club to make them believe we are strong enough to do better things."

The 47-year-old won 14 trophies as Barcelona coach and seven while at Bayern, but said that a less intrusive media landscape made it easier to settle as a manager in England.

"I understand why in England you can stay at a club for 20 years in one place," Guardiola, who also claimed the League Cup for City last season, added.

"Here during the week I don't see the journalists and for example we had maybe some problems in the locker room, sometimes we have to be tough with players -- but nothing goes out. Just a few times.

"In Barcelona or in Bayern Munich everything that happened, the next time (day) it is in... the media. So here you are more comfortable."

The former Barcelona player has won almost every major honour available to him as a manager. However, one of the prizes he still wishes to claim, is hearing Elton John sing live.

"I've never been to a concert of his, it is a huge dream. I met him at Watford when we played there last season and it was a huge pleasure," Guardiola said.

Loftus-Cheek treble boosts Chelsea, Arsenal edge Sporting

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock said it would be "virtually impossible" for his team to beat Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday.

Promoted Cardiff, who are 17th in the league table with one win from nine games, travel to Anfield to take on unbeaten Liverpool who are second on goal difference behind Manchester City.

Cardiff beat Fulham 4-2 last weekend to register their first win of the campaign but facing Liverpool at home is a far more daunting prospect because the Merseysiders have not lost a home league match since April 2017.

"It is virtually impossible for any team in the current game (to win at Anfield)," Warnock told a news conference on Friday.

"Their front three is probably the best front three in the world. But we're playing quite well -- I think we can cause them problems. You have to go there and believe you can."

In an ominous sign for Cardiff, Liverpool's forward line of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino were all on target in their 4-0 Champions League victory over Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday.

"We all have to play to the top of our potential to give them a good game and hope they're having a bit of an off day," Warnock added.

Liverpool's biggest improvement has been at the other end of the pitch, however, where centre-back Virgil van Dijk and Brazil international goalkeeper Alisson have marshalled a defence that has kept seven clean sheets in 13 matches in all competitions.

Warnock revealed he had passed up on the chance to sign Van Dijk years before Liverpool made the Dutchman the most expensive defender in the world when they signed him from Southampton in January.

"I'm delighted (Van Dijk's) playing like he is," Warnock added. "We could have bought him at (Crystal) Palace for six million pounds ($7.7 million) but my chief scout told me he was too slow. I think he's still in a job as well."

With Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson out with a hamstring injury, Van Dijk captained the team in their midweek Champions League win and could be in line to lead the side again on Saturday.

FIFA have set up a task force to examine president Gianni Infantino's plans for a new Club World Cup and Global Nations League, avoiding a damaging split with UEFA over the controversial proposals.

Infantino told a news conference that the task force would present its findings at a council meeting in Miami on March 14.

“On the topic that heated some of the media, we have taken a decision to create a task force at least," said Infantino, who had intended to put his plans to a vote on Friday.

"We have taken a decision to establish a task force to bolster the consultation process, the prospects of a revamped FIFA Club World Cup and worldwide Nations League, to discuss and make concrete proposals,” Infantino said.

Infantino's plans had been opposed by the World Leagues Forum and the European Leagues, representing the top club competitions internationally, who had urged the FIFA chief to step back from a quick vote.

European governing body UEFA had also been vocal in their criticism of the plans after details emerged in May, raising the prospect of a split in the global game.

Infantino said the task force would "work on details of these competitions which are of high interest in many parts of the world where some agree, others disagree".

"There are different points of views, different opinions. It’s perfectly normal,” Infantino said, adding that he welcomed proposals and ideas for the tournaments.

Infantino's plans for the Club World Cup have included holding the tournament every four years with 24 teams and also an idea for an annual competition.

The Nations League format began under UEFA's auspices in Europe in September while CONCACAF, in North and Central America and the Caribbean, has also begun a Nations League tournament.

Infantino's idea is for a 'Final Eight' tournament bringing together the winners of various continental Nations League competitions.

"Two confederations already have Nations League, for which rights are already sold, in particular when it comes to Europe until 2022. But others don‘t," said the FIFA president.

"But there are certainly ways and possibilities to look into seeing what can be done maybe already in other parts... or maybe the whole world after 2022. We are open to every idea and every proposal.”

FIFA have set up a task force to examine president Gianni Infantino's plans for a new Club World Cup and Global Nations League, avoiding a damaging split with UEFA over the controversial proposals. Infantino told a news conference that the task force would present its findings at a council meeting in Miami on March 14. “On the topic that heated some of the media, we have taken a decision to create a task force at least," said Infantino, who had intended to put his plans to a vote on Friday. "We have taken a decision to establish a task force to bolster the consultation process, the prospects of a revamped FIFA Club World Cup and worldwide Nations League, to discuss and make concrete proposals,” Infantino said. Infantino's plans had been opposed by the World Leagues Forum and the European Leagues, representing the top club competitions internationally, who had urged the FIFA chief to step back from a quick vote. European governing body UEFA had also been vocal in their criticism of the plans after details emerged in May, raising the prospect of a split in the global game. Chelsea's Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored the first hat-trick of his career as the midfielder that inspired his team to register a win over Belarus champions BATE Borisov in Europa League on Thursday.&nbsp;

Reaction from Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri after Ruben Loftus-Cheek's performance was quite hilarious when he said that there is a "little problem" with the club right now.&nbsp;

Sarri said while addressing the media that he got a little problem, he said, "I have to put only eleven players in the starting eleven and I have 28 players."&nbsp;

Loftus-Cheek is yet to start a Premier League match under new boss Sarri but handed the taskmaster Italian an acute reminder of his talents with a coolly-taken treble.&nbsp;

"So, I have this little problem and I don't know how to solve it. I can ask to play with fifteen or sixteen (players) but, as I said before, I have a tactical problem with the midfielders, with their characteristics."&nbsp;

"We need to work, they have to improve in the defensive phase so maybe in the future, I will be able to put (Ross) Barkley and Loftus(-Cheek) in the starting eleven at the same time."&nbsp;

Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt has been offered a professional contract by Australian A-League outfit the Central Coast Mariners but a deal is unlikely without an external third party financial contribution, the club said on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old Jamaican, a passionate football fan, has been on trial at the club since August as he attempts to make an audacious switch to a second professional sport after one of the most decorated careers in athletics.

"The club can confirm that&nbsp;a contract proposal has been offered by the Central Coast Mariners and&nbsp;negotiations remain ongoing with Usain Bolt and his management regarding his football future," the Mariners said in a statement.

"The Central Coast Mariners want to ensure that Usain Bolt is given every chance possible to fulfil his dream to become a professional football player."

Despite two goals in one pre-season friendly, Bolt's performances for the Mariners have not been overly impressive and manager Mike Mulvey suggested at the weekend that the Jamaican would not on current form be worth a place in his side.

The club said Bolt had made "great progression" in his time at the Gosford-based club and they were looking at ways to give him "more individual intensive training and competitive game time" but that it would have to be away from the A-League.

The club statement said the other main discussion point in negotiations was around commercial matters.

'COMMERCIAL SOLUTION'

Football Federation Australia (FFA) has made it clear that the "marquee" money that has in the past helped Australian clubs lure the likes of Italian forward Alessandro Del Piero to the A-League would not be available to sign Bolt.

Home crowds for the Mariners last season averaged just over 7,000 but the club said that while they would need third party help to fund a deal, media reports that it could be worth as little as A$150,000 ($106,185) a season were "inaccurate".

"Usain Bolt's management and the Central Coast Mariners are in conversations with external partners to find a commercial solution that suits all parties," read the statement.

"Without the financial contribution of an external third-party, it is unlikely that Usain Bolt and the Central Coast Mariners will agree to terms."

According to Forbes, eight-times Olympic gold medallist Bolt was earning upwards of $20 million a year mostly from endorsements before his retirement from athletics in 2017.

Last week, he turned down an offer of a two-year contract from Maltese outfit Valletta FC and his representatives have made it clear that he is the subject of interest from other European clubs.

Bolt will not train with the Mariners until a deal is finalised, the statement added.

A-League club confirm offer to Olympic champion Usain Bolt

Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui said on Monday he would fight to turn the team's performance around as pressure mounted on him following a series of poor results that has sent Real down to seventh place in the La Liga table.

Former national coach, Lopetegui has been at the Real helm for nine La Liga games, only four of which ended in victory for the club, and local media have reported rumours about his likely dismissal following Saturday's 2-1 defeat at home to Levante.

A defiant Lopetegui, however, brushed off the reports and said there was still time to reverse the team's fortunes.

"If you're wanting to see a wounded coach, don't look over here," he told a news conference ahead of Real's Champions League tie with Viktoria Plzen on Tuesday.

"We're going to fight to turn this situation around. We know it's not the best but we've got time in which we can turn it round and we'll fight, starting with tomorrow's game," said Lopetegui, 52, who caused controversy for accepting the Real job on the eve of the World Cup and was fired by the Spanish FA.

Tension over the team's showing is also mounting on the players, and tempers flared at their Valdebebas training ground as captain Sergio Ramos reacted angrily to being hit on the nose from a ball by youngster Sergio Reguilon during training.

Ramos blasted a ball at the 21-year-old and had to be calmed down by Luka Modric before resuming the session.

Real are without a win in their last five games in all competitions, and their defeat to CSKA Moscow earlier this month means that they sit second in Group G in the Champions League, behind the Russians and level on points with third-placed Roma.

They may get some consolation from the end of a goal drought during Saturday's defeat, having set an unwanted club record of 465 minutes without scoring, something Lopetegui hopes to fix ahead of this weekend's Clasico fixture away to Barcelona.

"There's a direct correlation with goals -- at both ends. It's what decides the games, even if you've been the better side. We need to be more efficient in that sense, but this will come with good play," he said.

Olympic sprint champion Usain&nbsp;Bolt&nbsp;managed to upstage the first weekend of Australia's A-League season without kicking a ball after his agent said he had been offered a professional contract by the Central Coast Mariners.

Questions will always be asked about whether signing&nbsp;Bolt&nbsp;was more about public relations than footballing prowess and, despite two goals in one pre-season friendly, it is fair to say that his performances for the Mariners have not been overly impressive.

Usain Bolt deal talk dominates first weekend of A-League

David Beckham and ex-Spice Girl Victoria have been married for nearly 20 years and the football and fashion icon admits it has been "hard work" to make it a success.

The pair, who have four children, tied the knot in 1999 and have lived their married life in the public glare.

The former Manchester United star, in Sydney as an ambassador for the Invictus Games for disabled and wounded soldiers, said it was not always easy as he opened up about his private life in an interview with Australian television.

"You know your children - they want your time and they deserve your time, and we are hardworking, and we feel that that is the right way to bring up our children to prove and to show to them that actually, you have to work hard to be successful," he said while speaking to an Australian commercial television network on Sunday.

"To have been married for the amount of time that we have, it's always hard work, everybody knows that, but you make it work, you make difficult situations like travelling away, being away from each other, you make it work."

Now a UNICEF ambassador and owner of an American Major League soccer team, the 43-year-old and his fashion designer wife - who launched her VB label in 2008 in New York - have been fodder for the tabloid press since they met.

But he has learned to live with the constant attention and speculation about their relationship.

"I've grown to kind of ignore some of the negative stuff that's said," he said.

"I think if you know each other, if you know you've got great friends, great family behind you, the thing we have to do is protect our children."

Beckham is close friends with Prince Harry and attended his wedding to the now pregnant Meghan Markle this year.

He said he was a massive fan of the royals and had huge respect for the Duke of Sussex, who conceived the Invictus Games as a way to inspire recovery and rehabilitation from war-time injuries through sport.

"With Harry to have come up with something that changes people's lives is incredible," he said.&nbsp;

"Sport is such a powerful tool to give them&nbsp;the opportunity to get over the injuries and the hard times they have been through."

The Invictus Games, featuring more than 500 competitors from 18 nations, run in Sydney until next weekend.

Promoted Cardiff City celebrated their first Premier League win of the season after coming from behind to beat fellow top-flight newcomers Fulham 4-2 at home in a rip-roaring clash on Saturday.

The result enabled Cardiff to climb out of the relegation zone into 17th position on five points from nine games, leaping over Fulham on goal difference as the Cottagers dropped to 18th after their worst start to a top-flight season.

Second-half goals from Callum Paterson and Kadeem Harris clinched it for Cardiff after Josh Murphy and Bobby Reid had overturned Andre Schurrle's opener for Fulham and Ryan Sessegnon had levelled for the visitors in a frantic opening period.

Sessegnon was quick to identify poor defending as the cause of Fulham's latest setback, as they stayed the only Premier League side yet to keep a clean sheet this season.

"At times we played well but goals are leaking too much and we need to change that," the 18-year-old winger told the BBC.

"I can't really put my finger on what the problem is, but we need to stick together, believe in ourselves and keep fighting, there's a long way to go."

Cardiff manager Neil Warnock was delighted and praised his team as well as the home crowd.

"It's just a great feeling for everyone at the club," he said. "We persevered and they didn't let the disappointments get them down.

"We are made of stern stuff, the fans are unbelievable as well. In the second half we rolled our sleeves up and said 'this is our season'. I can enjoy my weekend now."

Former Germany striker Schurrle fired Fulham ahead with a superb individual goal before clinical finishing by Murphy and Reid turned the match on its head inside the opening 20 minutes.

Sessegnon equalised with a composed finish before missing a pair of chances either side of halftime which ultimately proved costly for Slavisa Jokanovic's side who have conceded 25 goals, more than any of their Premier League rivals.

Paterson pounced on a half-cleared cross to put Cardiff back in front before late substitute Harris sealed the contest in the 87th minute, sliding in at the far post to tuck the ball past goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli.

Jokanovic was disappointed but urged his players to keep their heads up.

"We are frustrated after this kind of defeat," he said.

"We have so many defensive problems but we have to find a solution. We must be brave and keep going to fix our mistakes."

"At times we played well but goals are leaking too much and we need to change that," the 18-year-old winger told the BBC. "I can't really put my finger on what the problem is, but we need to stick together, believe in ourselves and keep fighting, there's a long way to go." Cardiff manager Neil Warnock was delighted and praised his team as well as the home crowd. "It's just a great feeling for everyone at the club," he said. "We persevered and they didn't let the disappointments get them down. "We are made of stern stuff, the fans are unbelievable as well. In the second half we rolled our sleeves up and said 'this is our season'. I can enjoy my weekend now." Former Germany striker Schurrle fired Fulham ahead with a superb individual goal before clinical finishing by Murphy and Reid turned the match on its head inside the opening 20 minutes.

Cardiff beat Fulham 4-2 for first league win of the season

Newcastle United were left to rue a host of missed chances as a deflected goal from Beram Kayal gave Brighton and Hove Albion a 1-0 Premier League win at St. James's Park on Saturday.

The defeat, Newcastle's seventh in nine league games this season, left them bottom of the standings with two points. Brighton are 12th with 11 points.

Brighton lost Glenn Murray early on after he appeared to be knocked unconscious in a nasty clash of heads with Newcastle defender Federico Fernandez. The striker was carried off on a stretcher and replaced by Jurgen Locadia.

Play resumed after a lengthy stoppage and the visitors took the lead in the 29th minute when Shane Duffy headed a corner back to Jose Izquierdo and his shot from the edge of the box was deflected into the net by Beram Kayal.

Newcastle should have drawn level at the break but Yoshinori Muto sent his header over the bar from point-blank range after Jonjo Shelvey's shot was parried.

Newcastle desperately searched for a second-half equaliser but their efforts were in vain and they slumped to a third league defeat in a row.

"This is the reality," Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez sighed in a post-match TV interview.

"So many games, people were talking about 'you don't have the possession.' We have the possession, shots and corners, free kicks, everything, and we didn't score," the 58-year-old said.

"It's difficult to complain when the team is working so hard and doing what they have to do in a lot of things, but still we have to be more precise and more clinical when we have chances," Benitez added.

Newcastle rue poor finishing in 1-0 Brighton defeat

Tottenham Hotspur secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over lowly London rivals West Ham United thanks to a deft first-half finish from Erik Lamela in their Premier League clash on Saturday.

The victory took Spurs into the top four with Argentine Lamela playing a starring role as he gave the visitors the lead just before the break with a glancing header into the top corner after a dribble and cross by Moussa Sissoko from the right.

Spurs, who have continued their best ever start to a Premier League season, also had keeper Hugo Lloris to thank after he denied West Ham's livewire Austria striker Marko Arnautovic on three occasions, including a vital save in stoppage time.

"Hugo was fantastic. It was an amazing victory for us with three points that keep us in a very good position," relieved Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino told reporters.

"...we maybe deserved to go into halftime with one or two more goals. In the end we suffered a little bit. When it's a derby it's so competitive and emotional."

Tottenham certainly had the best of the first half and could have added to their score before the interval at a packed London Stadium but Colombian central defender Davinson Sanchez's low shot was well blocked by West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

The home side started the second period brightly and almost equalised but Arnautovic's fine header from Aaron Cresswell's cross was superbly tipped over the bar by Lloris.

West Ham kept pressing and Arnautovic again tested Lloris on the hour with a rasping low drive before bringing another fine same from the France international in added time but the home side could not find a way through the Spurs defence.

The win takes Tottenham up to provisional third place with 21 points from nine games before Saturday's late match, while struggling West Ham remain in 15th spot on seven points.

Lamela goal edges Spurs to derby win at West Ham

A trio of headed goals from Marquinhos, Adrien Rabiot and Julian Draxler and strikes from Kylian Mbappe and Moussa Diaby made it a perfect 10 wins in 10 Ligue 1 games this season for Paris St Germain as they hammered Amiens 5-0 on Saturday.

Defender Marquinhos opened the scoring at the Parc Des Princes by heading home from an Angel Di Maria corner in the 12th minute, and Adrien Rabiot made it two from another corner by Di Maria three minutes before half-time.

Amiens, who are four points above the drop zone, defended bravely but they fell apart towards the end, with Draxler heading home in the 80th minute and Mbappe rifling a shot low to the right of the goalkeeper to make it four two minutes later.

Midfielder Diaby jinked into the box and placed the ball in the same spot to make it 5-0 two minutes from time in front of a raucous home crowd.

With many of the weekend's fixtures still to be played, the win put PSG top of the table on 30 points, 11 ahead of second-placed Lille, who are away to Dijon later on Saturday.

Olympic Lyonnais, who beat Nimes 2-0 on Friday, are third on 17 points.

Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski scored once in each half and set up a third goal to steer the German champions, playing with 10 men, to a 3-1 victory over VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday for their first win in five games in all competitions.

The Poland striker opened his account on the half hour and doubled it four minutes after the re-start to give embattled Bayern a much-needed boost, a day after club bosses launched a scathing attack on the media while backing coach Niko Kovac and his players despite their dip in form.

"We had a lot of pressure," Kovac told reporters. "We wanted everyone to focus over 90 minutes and give it all for the club. The team did this unusually well and the final score is fully deserved.

"Overall it was a solid performance, even when we were down to 10 men. Even when they pulled a goal back we did not falter."

The game looked to be turning for the hosts in the 57th minute when Bayern winger Arjen Robben was sent off after a second booking. It was the Dutchman's first dismissal in more than seven years.

The Wolves then cut the deficit through Wout Weghorst six minutes later and launched an all-out offensive in search of the equaliser before James Rodriguez stunned the home crowed with a curling shot following a Lewandowski pass.

The win will no doubt ease some of the pressure on Kovac, in his first season at Bayern, and the team can earn more bonus points with fans if they beat AEK Athens in Greece in the Champions League next week.

Bayern, whose president Uli Hoeness and CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge on Friday accused the media of unfair and "shameful" reporting of their team's current form, are now provisionally in second place on 16 points, four behind leaders Borussia Dortmund.

Robert Lewandowski double hands Bayern first win in five games

For all the talk of title bids from Chelsea and Liverpool, defending champions Manchester City are once again looking like the record-breaking side that dominated the Premier League last season.

City crushed Burnley 5-0 at the Etihad on Saturday and while Sean Dyche's strugglers were never expected to win, the sheer strength of City's stylish squad was evident in abundance.

After nine games City are unbeaten and top of the league with a positive goal difference of 23 - ten more than Chelsea.

Last season they scored a record breaking 106 goals in 38 games and, with 26 in nine so far, they are on course to break that record.

The win over the Clarets came with Kyle Walker and Danilo out injured and centre-half John Stones filling in at right-back.

Ominously for their rivals Kevin De Bruyne, whose knee injury has kept him sidelined since the opening game of the season, marked his return as a second-half substitute.

Unsurprisingly Guardiola looked happy and composed after the fifth win in five at home this season.

"Our level at home last season, this season, is high - we win with good performances in general, and we attack more comfortably, with more options," he said.

"We had five different players score, so there is less pressure on (strikers) Sergio (Aguero) or Gabriel (Jesus).

"We learn every day to attack better when they defend deeper... People attack us and we regain the ball... we have a lot of pace to attack on the counter. It is important for us to combine both things, whether they attack or defend deep," he said.

Guardiola feels the atmosphere and mood around the Etihad is well suited to his side.

"I would say we feel comfortable at home with our people. Last season we drew against Everton and lost to United but won all the other games. We feel comfortable with our fans and the grass, thanks to the greenkeepers for the grass in perfect condition that helps us to play quicker. We feel comfortable so we can keep going and be consistent, especially in the Premier League, and that is so important," he said.

De Bruyne should make City even stronger and Guardiola expects him to be quickly back to his best.

"He has no pain, physically he is a guy who is so strong, he needs minutes, this is the first time he played 30 minutes and this is so important.

"We have a lot of games but of course he's not new - not like Riyad (Mahrez)- (we have had) three years together so when I say something he knows what we have to do.

"He's another important player and he's back and will help us to achieve what we want to do."

Returning De Bruyne adds to unbeaten City's aura

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was involved in a fracas&nbsp;at the touchline after Chelsea's star&nbsp;Ross Barkley&nbsp;scored an&nbsp;<a href="http://www.wionews.com/sports/jose-mourinho-infuriated-as-chelsea-salvage-unbeaten-record-172518">96th-minute equaliser</a>&nbsp;to draw the game&nbsp;on Saturday.

Manchester United was on the verge winning but an injury time-goal by Barkley helped Chelsea to maintain unbeaten Premier League start at Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho took exception to the celebrations of one of Chelsea's backroom staff, Marco Ianni, who ran in front of the Portuguese on the touchline, as he seemed set for a sweet victory over his old club.

ManU boss said that Chelsea's technical assistant Ianni was "very impolite" after celebrating in front of him.

Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui's woes deepened as the European champions fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to Levante on Saturday, setting an unwanted record of 482 minutes without scoring a goal in the process.

Jose Luis Morales put Levante ahead in the seventh minute after a defensive slip from Raphael Varane while Roger Marti doubled the lead in the 13th from the penalty spot after a handball by Varane, with the spot-kick awarded after consultation with the video assistant referee (VAR).

Real created a number of chances down the other end but hit the woodwork three times and had a strike by Marco Asensio ruled out by VAR for offside and early in the second half they broke an unwanted club record of 464 minutes without scoring.

Marcelo finally snapped their long spell without a goal by smashing into the net midway through the second half, scoring the club's first goal in 482 minutes.

But despite creating a glut of further chances Real slumped to a third straight loss in all competitions to pile the pressure on under-fire Lopetegui.

Real, who were booed by their fans, are fifth in the La Liga standings, three points behind leaders Alaves.

Champions Barcelona play at home to second-placed Sevilla later on Saturday.

Real were in dire need of a win after losing to CSKA Moscow and Alaves in their last two games and they were boosted by the return of influential figures Isco and Marcelo although Gareth Bale could only start on the bench after recovering from injury.

Madrid conceded the first goal for the seventh time in 11 games in all competitions when Varane failed to clear the most routine of through passes and forward Morales stole the loose ball and rounded goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to score.

Levante stunned the home fans into silence when they were awarded a penalty in bizarre circumstances for a handball by the hapless Varane on the line of the penalty area, which was finally given after consulting the video assistant referee (VAR) just as the visitors were about to take a free kick.

Courtois guessed the right way but Marti's penalty was too powerful for him.

VAR was called into action five minutes later to cancel out a goal for Real from Marco Asensio for offside, the first of a flurry of chances for the home side which saw Mariano hit the crossbar and Levante's former Barcelona goalkeeper Oier Olazabal make a string of impressive saves.

Olazabal made another superb save after the interval to thwart substitute Bale while fellow sub Benzema hit the post after Marcelo had reduced the deficit to a single goal.

Mariano thought he had found a leveller late on when he converted from close range but the goal was ruled offside.

Pressure mounts on coach Julen Lopetegui as Real Madrid lose again

More pressure has been mounted on Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui as Madrid lost 1-2 to Levante on Saturday and also hit a new low under the new coach as they set an unwelcome club record of 465 minutes without scoring during their La Liga game.

The defeat means Madrid have now gone five games without a victory as Jose Luis Morales and Roger Marti's penalty put Levante two up, before Marcelo pulled one back in the second half.&nbsp;

Real's last goal in any competition came in a 1-0 win against Espanyol on September 22 and they have failed to score in their following games with Sevilla, Atletico Madrid, CSKA Moscow and Alaves.

More pressure has been mounted on Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui as Madrid lost 1-2 to Levante on Saturday and also hit a new low under the new coach as they set an unwelcome club record of 465 minutes without scoring during their La Liga game. The defeat means Madrid have now gone five games without a victory as Jose Luis Morales and Roger Marti's penalty put Levante two up, before Marcelo pulled one back in the second half. Real's last goal in any competition came in a 1-0 win against Espanyol on September 22 and they have failed to score in their following games with Sevilla, Atletico Madrid, CSKA Moscow and Alaves. Cesc Fabregas received a Guinness World Record after becoming the fastest player to reach 100 English Premier League assists in 293 games.

That is 74 matches sooner than former Manchester United player Ryan Giggs who is second on the list with 367 games.

Fabregas' record-breaking assist came on 31st December 2016 when he set up Brazilian midfielder Willian's second goal in Chelsea's 4-2 win over Stoke City.

He credited&nbsp;Arsenal icons Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp in the process.

He remembered his most famous assist; threading the pass for Andres Iniesta to score the winning goal for Spain in the 2010 World Cup final.

"It was not the most beautiful, not the most amazing assist. But a simple pass broke the line… and it got us the World Cup," he recalls.

The 31-year-old made his Premier League debut at Arsenal in 2004 at the age of 16 years.&nbsp;

His ability to play in tight spaces and still create chances led to a move to his boyhood club, Barcelona in 2011.

Three years later he returned to London with Chelsea and has gone on to win the Premier League twice since joining.

He credited the sharp training he received in the Barcelona youth team where he played with world-class experienced professionals including Andres Iniesta, Lionel Messi and Gerard Pique.

Bayern&nbsp;Munich bosses on Friday threw their support behind coach Niko Kovac and his players despite a four-game winless streak in all competitions, accusing the media of "disrespectful" reporting.

The German champions, who have won the last six league titles but are sixth in the standings, travel to VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday, knowing any result other than victory would sink them deeper into crisis.

But club president Uli Hoeness and CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge accused the media of "outrageous, disrespectful and polemical" reporting and warned them of possible legal action.

"When I read about Manuel Neuer then I just have no words. I would like to remind you that Manuel was world goalkeeper of the year four times," Rummenigge told reporters. "Same goes for Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels."

Speaking at a news conference scheduled at short notice, the club bosses said reporters should now expect "mail from our media lawyer" for any false or inaccurate reports.

"I don't know if there are special laws for the media but we will not accept this kind of reporting any longer," Rummenigge said

"Today is an important day as we inform you that we will no longer tolerate this derogatory and derisive reporting. We will protect our coach, players and club. It is outrageous, disrespectful and polemical."

Kovac earlier on Friday said all&nbsp;Bayern&nbsp;needed was a bit of luck to turn things around.

"Not everything is as grim as it is presented and I also said after our good start this season that not everything was rosy," Kovac, in his first season at&nbsp;Bayern, said.

"Changing everything now would just be doing it for the sake of change and that never works," said Kovac. "You have to stick to your plan.

"Throwing everything overboard and inventing something on the spot does not make sense. You will never get that from me."

Bayern, pre-season favourites for a seventh straight league title, have lost two of their last three Bundesliga games to drop to sixth place on 13 points, four behind leaders Borussia Dortmund.

"We cannot be negative, we want to be positive," said Kovac, whose team face AEK Athens in the Champions League next week.

"But we need that bit of luck. You need it in life and you need it in sport. If we get that, because we have been creating the chances in every game, then it will work for us again."

The Croat said Colombian James Rodriguez, who returned from international duty late on Thursday evening, should also be fresh for Saturday's league game.

Bayern Munich bosses slam German media, back team and coach

Javid Jaihoon, who started life selling water on the streets of Kabul, is one of a clutch of Afghan businessmen whose multimillion-dollar fortunes, built in the boom years after the fall of the Taliban, are now fuelling a run for parliament.

As well as featuring prominently among the riot of campaign posters now plastering the streets ahead of Saturday's election, they are burnishing their image with TV ads, football team sponsorships or treats like free admission to amusement parks.

"It's not suits that make you different," the shaven-headed Jaihoon, known widely as "Lala" ("Brother") Javid, told Reuters, lightly brushing his own Armani jacket. "'Lala Javid' himself is a brand that's known all over the country."

After a childhood selling cups of water and loose bananas, Jaihoon was among a class of entrepreneurs agile and ruthless enough to seize their chance during the wild decade after 2001 when Western money and contracts were pouring into Afghanistan with few questions asked.

Now worth $200 million, according to his own estimate, Jaihoon owns Afghanistan's largest cement factory, a bank and a security company that together employ more than 8,000 people.

"Anyone can become a millionaire if they work hard and believe in achieving something," he said.

Even as the Taliban have extended their reach from their rural heartlands to the outskirts of major cities like Kabul, money is being made in Afghanistan and the rise of such entrepreneurs underlines its undoubted power in local politics.

While often closely linked to the political elite, they represent a change from the old class of former Mujahideen leaders and strongmen, several of whom have children running for parliament.

Like father, like son&nbsp;

The sons of Hizb-i Islami leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, and former anti-Soviet commanders Ismail Khan, Mohammad Moheqeq and Karim Khalili, are all standing, using the aura of their family name to power their campaigns.

All are considered likely to win seats and continue the dynasties created by their fathers in the turbulent years that began with the assassination of former President Daud Khan and the arrival of the Soviets in the late 1970s.

But for many in the new business class, the election is less a matter of political power than protecting their interests.

"As a businessman, you basically have to pay and fill the pockets of a lot of people if you get a contract," said Habibullah Esmati, a candidate who owns a popular fun park near Kabul zoo. "But if I am elected to parliament, I will be immune from paying protection money. It will be an insurance for my businesses and investment."

Critics say that for those with money and connections, a seat in parliament offers excellent opportunities to win lucrative government contracts together with protection against prosecution. There is a great incentive to buy votes either directly or through promises and favours and campaign spending limits appear to be openly flouted.

"In Afghanistan, the first criterion for voters is money, then ethnic and family connections," said Naeem Ayubzada, director of the Transparent Election Foundation

Afghanistan, a watchdog body. He said one female candidate, without the means of some rivals, had come to his office in tears because people were demanding $50 for their vote.

"I don't need money"&nbsp;

But like many businessmen-turned-politicians in Western countries, Afghan entrepreneurs typically promise that their wealth will enable them to resist the corruption for which parliament has become notorious.

"My election slogan is 'Fight against poverty and unemployment'. But to support youth and provide them with jobs, I have to be in parliament," Jaihoon said.

"I am not like other MPs who think being in parliament is a lucrative business. I don't need money and I won't go to the ministers to get something done. I will summon them and make sure they do their jobs," he said.

A former football player, he also sponsors a team in Afghanistan's Premier League, a well-tried formula for boosting popularity.

The league was itself rescued from financial problems last month by another wealthy entrepreneur-turned-candidate called Ajmal Rahmani, known popularly as "Armoured Ajmal" after his business selling bulletproof cars to the Kabul elite.

Rahmani's campaign posters now adorn the grounds where spectators on match day get gift bags bearing his image, an updated version of the traditional feasts and hospitality Afghan politicians offer at meetings with their supporters.

Esmati, who opened up his funfair to the public during the campaign, tempting almost 10,000 potential voters with a free day out, also sees the value of innovative approaches to garnering support.

"Other MPs had feasts and feeding people," he said. "But I gave them entertainment and I believe entertainment is more important than food."

Football, funfairs and fortunes: In Afghan election, money talks

Jose Mourinho was charged by the Football Association on Tuesday over comments he made after Manchester United's victory against Newcastle and faces a potential touchline ban if found guilty.

The United manager spoke into a camera after his side came from behind to triumph 3-2 at Old Trafford, easing the immediate pressure on him after a string of poor results.

"Jose Mourinho has been charged following Manchester United's game against Newcastle United on October 6, 2018," said an FA spokesman.

"It is alleged that his language at the end of the fixture, as captured by the broadcast footage, was abusive and/or insulting and/or improper. He has until 6:00 pm on October 19, 2018 to respond to the charge."

The match was played in a tense atmosphere, United having denied a report earlier in the day that Mourinho would be sacked that weekend regardless of the result.

United recovered from 2-0 down to complete a dramatic comeback with a last-gasp goal from Alexis Sanchez. The victory ended a run of four games without a win.

Footage shows Mourinho saying something, apparently in Portuguese, while at one point looking into a camera, as he headed towards the tunnel after the final whistle.

He also made a gesture with his right hand while speaking, pointing with his little finger.

The 55-year-old, who said after the match that he was the subject of a media "manhunt", said when asked about the gesture: "It is a finger. Smaller than the others, but it is a finger."

Japan made it three wins out of three under new coach Hajime Moriyasu with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Uruguay in a friendly on Tuesday night in Saitama.

Inspired by 24-year-old playmaker Shoya Nakajima and forward Takumi Minamino, who finished the night with a brace, Japan stunned Oscar Tabarez’s side, who are ranked fifth in the world.

Japan, ranked 54th, continued on from their 3-0 victory over Panama on Friday with a vibrant attacking display involving many of the younger players Moriyasu has brought in since taking over after the 2018 World Cup.

Starting with Minamino, 23, Ritsu Doan, 20, and Nakajima as three attacking midfielders behind Yuya Osako, Japan played a brand of football that Uruguay struggled to cope with.

The trio only had nine caps between them coming into the night. But Salzburg’s Minamino started the scoring after 10 minutes, wriggling past Uruguay captain Diego Godin with a clever turn and drilling his shot into the top corner past keeper Fernando Muslera.

Uruguay lacked fluidity throughout the first-half, leaving striker Edinson Cavani isolated up front without his strike partner Luis Suarez, who missed this match because his wife is due to give birth.

Their best chances came from set-pieces and after Japan goalkeeper Masaaki Higashiguchi had saved well once from Godin’s header, it was PSV Eindhoven’s Gaston Pereiro who scored following another floated Uruguay free kick on 28 minutes.

Japan reclaimed the lead less than 10 minutes later after Nakajima’s shot was parried into the path of Yuya Osako. The Werder Bremen forward had been largely wasteful until that point but buried his finish to give Japan a 2-1 lead heading into the break.

Uruguay equalized for a second time when Cavani took advantage of a misguided back pass from Japan defender Genta Miura to round Higashiguchi and score his 46th goal for his country on 57 minutes.

However, Japan roared back just two minutes later through 20-year-old Ritsu Doan’s neat finish before Minamino claimed his second from another Muslera rebound.

The goal was his fourth in just five appearances for Japan.

The drama was not over, however, as Uruguay substitute Jonathan Rodriguez pulled a goal back on 75 minutes to set up a nervy finish for Moriyasu’s team.

However, the Japanese held on in front of an exuberant home crowd to keep up their 100 percent record under Moriyasu and hand Uruguay their second loss on the bounce, following a 2-1 defeat in South Korea on Friday.

Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan, currently on loan with Turkish club Basaksehir, has been charged over a clash with a prominent singer, and prosecutors are seeking up to 12-1/2 years in jail for the Turkey international, state media reported on Tuesday.

Turan has been accused of sexual harassment, unlicensed possession of weapons and causing intentional injury over the fight with singer Berkay Sahin, Anadolu news agency said.

Basaksehir said they had fined the 31-year-old $431,000 over the incident.

"The alleged acts committed by our football player during the 3-day leave given to him for national team matches are in no way consistent with the ethical and professional understanding of the club," Basaksehir said in a statement.

Turan will continue to fulfil his professional obligations until a judicial decision is reached, the Istanbul club said.

He was summoned to a police station last week to give a statement about the incident, which took place at an Istanbul nightclub and reportedly left Sahin with a broken nose.

Sahin has also been charged by prosecutors who are seeking a jail sentence of up to two years for him.

Turan has not played this season due to a 16-match ban for shoving and verbally abusing a linesman during a game at the end of last season.

He joined Barcelona from Atletico Madrid for $39.4 million&nbsp;in 2015, winning six trophies, making 55 appearances and scoring 15 goals for the Catalan club.

Brazil's Neymar spoke about his former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi's absence from the Argentina squad as the South American soccer rivals Argentina and Brazil are gearing up for Tuesday's friendly match at Jeddah's King Abdullah Sports City.

Argentina's missing captain Lionel Messi and three other stars: Sergio Aguero, Angel Di Maria and Gonzalo Higuain, Argentina is trying out different combinations.

He said Messi's absence is not good for the football lovers. "I think it is bad for football lovers to not have (Lionel) Messi, a great legend, out of a game like this," said Neymar.

He then added, "But for us is good (smiles). But I insist to reinforce the quality of Argentina, the quality of players that are there today."

"We know it will be a very tough match. We must do our part and a derby like this is always great to play."

He then talked about whether Brazil is favourite or not, "There's no such thing as favoritism between Brazil and Argentina. It is a derby where I am sure it will be great to watch by everyone who appreciates football," concluded Neymar.

The match against Argentina will be Brazil's fourth friendly since they lost to Belgium in the World Cup quarter-finals.

The Brazilian side also beat the United States and El Salvador last Friday and will have superstar Neymar as permanent team captain.

Probable lineups:

Argentina: Sergio Romero; Renzo Saravia, Nicolas Otamendi, German Pezzella, Nicolas Tagliafico; Leandro Paredes, Santiago Ascacibar; Eduardo Salvio, Maximiliano Meza, Angel Correa; Mauro Icardi.

Brazil: Alisson; Danilo, Marquinhos, Miranda, Filipe Luis; Casemiro; Arthur, Renato Augusto; Philippe Coutinho, Neymar, Roberto Firmino.

UEFA Nations League: Southgate's 'Three Lions' led by Raheem, Rashford stun Spain

Sprint legend Usain Bolt says he's stunned after being handed a drug testing notice despite retiring from athletics and having no professional contract as he bids to launch a football career in Australia.

The 100m world record-holder quit athletics last year and is yet to be offered a deal by Australia's Central Coast Mariners, where he is currently on trial.

"So guys I've retired from track and field looking to become a footballer but look at this," Bolt said Monday via an Instagram video as he zoomed in on the notice.

The demand for the out of competition test - to collect urine and blood - appears to have been issued by Football Federation Australia.

"How am I going to get a drug test today? I'm not even a professional footballer yet. Seriously," said Bolt.

"So I asked the lady, 'Why am I getting drug tested when I haven't signed for a club yet?’ and she said they told her I'm an elite athlete so I have to get tested. Okay then."

Despite his displeasure, it appears the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority guidelines mean he is eligible to be tested.

Their legislation defines an athlete as a "person who competes in sport" if "the sport has an anti-doping policy".

The eight-time Olympic champion, who dominated sprinting after taking double individual gold at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, is now bidding to become a professional footballer.

He made his case on Friday by scoring two goals for the Mariners in a pre-season friendly.

The superstar, a massive Manchester United fan, has been handed a chance to train with the A-League side for an indefinite period in order to pursue his dream.
