Everly, whose hits with his brother included 'Wake Up Little Susie'&nbsp;and 'Bye Bye Love,'&nbsp;died on Saturday at his home in Nashville, Tennessee, a family spokesperson told the newspaper. His brother died in 2014 at age 74.<br />

The New York Times once described the brothers` voices as "dipped in country sugar," and it was said that "if they sing country in heaven, then there`s a good chance the angels sound like the Everly Brothers."<br />
<br />
"Perhaps even more powerfully than Elvis Presley, the Everly Brothers melded country with the emerging sound of Fifties rock &amp; roll," said Rolling Stone magazine in putting the brothers at No. 33 on its list of the '100 Greatest Artists.'<br />
<br />
The Everlys` success faded in the 1960s amid the advent of guitar-driven rock, the tension between the brothers and drug problems. They split up for 10 years but their harmonies proved timeless.<br />
<br />
Isaac Donald 'Don'&nbsp;Everly was born on Feb. 1, 1937, in Brownie, Kentucky, the son of two country musicians, Ike and Margaret Everly. Phil was born two years later and they were still boys when their musical careers began.<br />
<br />
With Ike Everly on guitar, the family was a travelling act and had its own radio show, on which Don and his younger brother would sing between commercials for XIP rat poison and Foster`s 30-minute Wonder Corn and Callus Remover.<br />
<br />
In the mid-'50s the brothers set out on their own and their breakthrough hit, 'Bye Bye Love,'&nbsp;came in 1957, rising to No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard pop charts. It was the first of many Everly tunes written by Boudleaux Bryant and his wife, Felice, including 'All I Have to Do Is Dream,'&nbsp;'Wake Up Little Susie'&nbsp;and 'Devoted to You.'<br />
<br />
"The new Everlys sound kept the high, keening harmonies, but backed them with robust acoustic guitars and a rock `n` roll beat that owed something to Bo Didley," the Rough Guide to Rock said. "The new sound - precisely arranged, whiny, compelling - was perfect for teenagers` portable radios."<br />
<br />
'Wake Up Little Susie,'&nbsp;also released in 1957, was their first No. 1 hit. A song about two teenagers falling asleep at the drive-in theatre and waking up long after curfew, it was banned from Boston radio stations for its sexually suggestive content.<br />
<br />
In 2000 then-presidential candidate George W. Bush told talk show host Oprah Winfrey that his favourite song was 'Wake Up Little Susie,'&nbsp;but he got the artist wrong, attributing the song to Buddy Holly, according to Rolling Stone.<br />
<br />
`EVERY SYLLABLE CAN SHINE`<br />
<br />
In 1960 the brothers signed with a new record label, Warner Bros., agreeing to a 10-year, $1 million contracts and making their debut with their own song, 'Cathy`s Clown.'<br />
As the 1960s advanced, the brothers grew increasingly out of step with the tumultuous era. Their squeaky-clean image and innocent lyrics marked them as dated even as their sound carried on through The Beatles and Simon and Garfunkel, in particular, who recorded 'Bye Bye Love'&nbsp;on their 1970 hit album, 'Bridge Over Troubled Water.'<br />
<br />
Art Garfunkel told Rolling Stone that the brothers` harmonizing had taught him that "every syllable can shine."<br />
"They were Kentucky guys with beautiful, perfect-pitch harmonies and great diction," he said. "All those vowels and consonants, those S`s and T`s, every one of them killed me."<br />
<br />
Personal problems took their toll as their popularity waned, with both brothers becoming addicted to speed and Don suffering a nervous breakdown and attempting suicide, according to Rolling Stone.<br />
<br />
In 1973 the Everlys finally broke up during a concert - Don had taken the stage drunk - at Knott`s Berry Farm theme park in Buena Park, California.<br />
''Phil Everly threw his guitar down and stormed off the stage during a performance of 'Cathy`s Clown,` leaving Don to tell the stunned audience the group was finished," Rolling Stone said.<br />
<br />
The brothers reportedly did not speak for almost a decade and pursued solo careers. In September 1983, they reunited at a concert at London`s Royal Albert Hall. Their performance was critically acclaimed and produced an album and a DVD.<br />
<br />
"We had been singing together and hadn`t really been apart since we were around 6 years old," Don told the New York Times. "It kept us immature, in a way, kept us from developing any individuality. But we took enough time, and we finally worked things out. Now it`s difficult to remember what we were fighting about."<br />
<br />
Their unmistakable sound continued to resonate in the 1980s and beyond. In 1984 they reappeared on U.S. charts with the song 'On the Wings of a Nightingale,'&nbsp;written for them by Paul McCartney.<br />
<br />
Two years later, Paul Simon released his hit album, 'Graceland,'&nbsp;on which the title track featured the brothers singing harmony.<br />
In 1997 the Everlys received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammy Awards. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001.</p>

"Perhaps even more powerfully than Elvis Presley, the Everly Brothers melded country with the emerging sound of Fifties rock & roll," said Rolling Stone magazine in putting the brothers at No. 33 on its list of the '100 Greatest Artists.' The Everlys` success faded in the 1960s amid the advent of guitar-driven rock, the tension between the brothers and drug problems. They split up for 10 years but their harmonies proved timeless. Isaac Donald 'Don' Everly was born on Feb. 1, 1937, in Brownie, Kentucky, the son of two country musicians, Ike and Margaret Everly. Phil was born two years later and they were still boys when their musical careers began. With Ike Everly on guitar, the family was a travelling act and had its own radio show, on which Don and his younger brother would sing between commercials for XIP rat poison and Foster`s 30-minute Wonder Corn and Callus Remover. In the mid-'50s the brothers set out on their own and their breakthrough hit, 'Bye Bye Love,' came in 1957, rising to No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard pop charts. "The new sound - precisely arranged, whiny, compelling - was perfect for teenagers` portable radios." 'Wake Up Little Susie,' also released in 1957, was their first No. 1 hit. A song about two teenagers falling asleep at the drive-in theatre and waking up long after curfew, it was banned from Boston radio stations for its sexually suggestive content. In 2000 then-presidential candidate George W. Bush told talk show host Oprah Winfrey that his favourite song was 'Wake Up Little Susie,' but he got the artist wrong, attributing the song to Buddy Holly, according to Rolling Stone. `EVERY SYLLABLE CAN SHINE` In 1960 the brothers signed with a new record label, Warner Bros., agreeing to a 10-year, $1 million contracts and making their debut with their own song, 'Cathy`s Clown.' As the 1960s advanced, the brothers grew increasingly out of step with the tumultuous era. Their squeaky-clean image and innocent lyrics marked them as dated even as their sound carried on through The Beatles and Simon and Garfunkel, in particular, who recorded 'Bye Bye Love' on their 1970 hit album, 'Bridge Over Troubled Water.' Art Garfunkel told Rolling Stone that the brothers` harmonizing had taught him that "every syllable can shine." "They were Kentucky guys with beautiful, perfect-pitch harmonies and great diction," he said. "All those vowels and consonants, those S`s and T`s, every one of them killed me." Personal problems took their toll as their popularity waned, with both brothers becoming addicted to speed and Don suffering a nervous breakdown and attempting suicide, according to Rolling Stone. In 1973 the Everlys finally broke up during a concert - Don had taken the stage drunk - at Knott`s Berry Farm theme park in Buena Park, California. ''Phil Everly threw his guitar down and stormed off the stage during a performance of 'Cathy`s Clown,` leaving Don to tell the stunned audience the group was finished," Rolling Stone said. The brothers reportedly did not speak for almost a decade and pursued solo careers. In September 1983, they reunited at a concert at London`s Royal Albert Hall. Their performance was critically acclaimed and produced an album and a DVD. "We had been singing together and hadn`t really been apart since we were around 6 years old," Don told the New York Times. "It kept us immature, in a way, kept us from developing any individuality. But we took enough time, and we finally worked things out. Now it`s difficult to remember what we were fighting about." Their unmistakable sound continued to resonate in the 1980s and beyond. In 1984 they reappeared on U.S. charts with the song 'On the Wings of a Nightingale,' written for them by Paul McCartney. Two years later, Paul Simon released his hit album, 'Graceland,' on which the title track featured the brothers singing harmony. In 1997 the Everlys received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammy Awards. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001.

<p>The five-episode show will air in September and will depict how the four-member crew is preparing and then launching into space aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, in near real-time.</p>

<p>The mission, scheduled for September 15, is financed and run by Jared Isaacman, the 38-year-old founder of payment processing company Shift4 Payments and the latest wealthy businessman to take advantage of the growing space tourism industry.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The show, titled 'Countdown: Inspiration4 Mission To Space'&nbsp;will "take viewers behind the scenes with the four crew members -- from their unconventional selection and intensive months-long commercial astronaut training, through the intimate and emotional moments leading up to liftoff," Netflix said in a statement.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The final episode will air after the mission is completed and will "feature unprecedented access inside the spacecraft, capturing the launch and the crew's journey to space, as well as their return home to Earth."&nbsp; The show is produced by Connor Schell and directed by Jason Hehir.</p>

<p>The crew is meant to reflect the main pillars of the mission: leadership, hope, generosity and prosperity.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The "hope" seat went to Hayley Arceneaux, 29, a physician assistant, who survived cancer as a child and will become the first person to go into space with a prosthesis.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Arceneaux works at the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where she was treated as a child. Isacmaan is using Inspiration4 to raise $200 million for the hospital.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Representing "generosity" is Chris Semborski, 41, a US air force veteran who now works in the aerospace industry. Sian Proctor, a 51-year-old entrepreneur, professor of geosciences and two-time NASA astronaut candidate, symbolizes "prosperity."</p>

<p>"If they can go, we can all go," said a promotional video for the show, released Thursday.</p>

<p>Tourists have already gone into space in the years 2001-2009 aboard Russian spacecraft, but unlike the Inspiration4 mission, they were accompanied by professional astronauts.</p>

The final episode will air after the mission is completed and will "feature unprecedented access inside the spacecraft, capturing the launch and the crew's journey to space, as well as their return home to Earth." The show is produced by Connor Schell and directed by Jason Hehir. The crew is meant to reflect the main pillars of the mission: leadership, hope, generosity and prosperity. The "hope" seat went to Hayley Arceneaux, 29, a physician assistant, who survived cancer as a child and will become the first person to go into space with a prosthesis. Arceneaux works at the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where she was treated as a child. Isacmaan is using Inspiration4 to raise $200 million for the hospital. Representing "generosity" is Chris Semborski, 41, a US air force veteran who now works in the aerospace industry. Sian Proctor, a 51-year-old entrepreneur, professor of geosciences and two-time NASA astronaut candidate, symbolizes "prosperity." "If they can go, we can all go," said a promotional video for the show, released Thursday. Tourists have already gone into space in the years 2001-2009 aboard Russian spacecraft, but unlike the Inspiration4 mission, they were accompanied by professional astronauts.

<p>Q: What made you pick the character of Balli Chaudhary?</p>

<p>A: I wanted to break my funny image, as people usually typecast. Most felt 'this television anchor will never be able to get into acting' so I think, this is a direct answer to those people.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A: No, never, not a single role attracted me, other than Balli Chaudary- but I have a regret that I didn't share screen space with Amol Palekar sir, -- he had a different track in the movie so was not able to meet him or talk to him.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Q: The movie is based on a real-life incident and shows how Dalit women are oppressed in our society so what's your take on that?</p>

<p>&nbsp;A: There are atrocities in society and people should speak up to seek justice. If stories like these are made more often, the right message will be delivered. So many times system fails but art takes up the role to play an active agent of change.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Q: Did the role personally affect you?&nbsp;</p>

<p>A: Yes. While shooting for the film, I was not able to speak to the team properly or my family, people near me. The character affected me deeply. To get out of the character, I went to Goa for a month to get out of a dark space. The preparation was tough for me and I'm a funny boy, so to stay in a character, I used to keep quiet a lot and speak less while shooting.</p>

<p>A: Somewhere I and Ranveer share the same vibes and he and I were like 'tornado' and the 'volcano' during the shooting. We had fun and we used to play cricket and was busy doing our notorious stuff until our director Kabir Khan would shout at us(laughs). Ranveer is not just a reel life captain, he's also a real-life captain.</p>

<p>A: Right from the beginning, I wanted to be in the media but in my life, I have followed the theory of subtraction. I have moved forward in my career leaving the stuff I used to do earlier behind and now finally I'm here, living my childhood dream, I'm really happy with my work and what I'm doing. I have to now stop moving further and stick to films and it is the future - movies are the long game, and I will work not just as an actor but as a writer too.</p>

<p>While MTV Entertainment Studios -- which like Paramount+ is owned by parent corporation ViacomCBS -- did not release any financial figures, Bloomberg News put the deal at $900 million, which would make it one of the largest in television history.</p>

<p>The Paramount+ streaming platform launched in March in a bid to compete in a crowded and content-hungry marketplace led by the likes of Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime.</p>

<p>In a statement, MTV Entertainment's Chris McCarthy said developing new content with "tremendous talent like Matt and Trey, is at the heart of our strategy to continue growing Paramount+."</p>

<p>The deal also includes multiple new series of 'South Park'&nbsp;for television network Comedy Central, which will see the long-running satire reach its 30th year by 2027.</p>

<p>'South Park,'&nbsp;set in small-town America and known for crude language and lampooning hot-button social issues since 1997, has already spawned one film, multiple video games and other merchandise.</p>

<p>"Comedy Central has been our home for 25 years and we're really happy that they've made a commitment to us for the next 75 years," said Parker and Stone in the joint statement.</p>

<p>"We can't wait to get back to doing traditional South Park episodes but now we can also try out new formats," they added.</p>

<p>While ViacomCBS did not immediately comment on the $900 million figure, it would put the deal on a par with Reese Witherspoon's sale of her Hello Sunshine company to a new private equity-backed media venture this week. It also comes after Amazon in May agreed to buy MGM studios for $8.45 billion.</p>
