Biden at the end of February, had $71 million in cash available in his main campaign account which is more than double of Trump’s $33.5 million.&nbsp;

The filings show that the former president received more than $3 million in his campaign&nbsp;account in February, which added to the $30 million on hand in January.&nbsp;

However, the incumbent president, which had $56 million by the end of January, added $15 million in February.&nbsp;

While Trump is in the lead in more nationwide polls, Biden and the Democratic Party have a growing cash advantage.&nbsp;

The Democratic National Committee, according to the filing, had more than twice the cash on hand when compared to its Republican counterpart.&nbsp;

However, the report does not show the entire picture since Biden and Trump are raising money through joint fundraising committees which will not file their reports until the end of next month.

A Trump campaign official told CNN that their campaign and joint fundraising committee brought in $20.3 million in February and they entered this month with a combined $41.9 million cash.&nbsp;

Donald Trump failed to secure a bond that would have allowed him to appeal a $454 million judgment against him in a New York civil fraud case without depositing the entire sum, his attorneys said on Monday (Mar 18).

The former US president needs to either come up with the money or post a bond in order to keep the state's authorities from seizing his properties as he appeals Justice Arthur Engoron's judgement from Feb 16 that ordered him and co-defendants to pay $464 million in penalties and interest for misstating property values to deceive lenders and insurers.

The Republican presidential candidate's attorneys argued that the judgment's sum was excessive and asked a mid-level state appeals court to postpone its execution in a court filing on Monday.

They stated that obtaining a total appeal bail would "effectively" require "cash reserves approaching $1 billion" and that doing so was "impossible."

They added that so far the defendants had approached 30 surety companies through four separate brokers in order to obtain a bond.

"Enforcing an impossible bond requirement as a condition of appeal would inflict manifest irreparable injury on Defendants," Trump's lawyers wrote.

The lawyers urged that instead, Trump be allowed to post a $100 million bond while he appeals the judgment.&nbsp;

If Trump loses his appeal and it turns out that he cannot afford the money, a bonding company would be responsible for any payout.

Trump's attorneys included a declaration from Gary Giulietti, an executive of the insurance brokerage firm the Lockton Companies, which Trump has hired in order to help him obtain a bond.

Giulietti in his statement wrote that a bond for the entire $464 million "is not possible under the circumstances presented." He also pointed out that many sureties would not issue bonds above $100 million and would only accept cash or securities as collateral, and not real estate.

The US Marshals Service confirmed in a statement late Monday that Lambert was arrested.

"The US Marshals Service can confirm the arrest of Stefanie Lambert earlier this afternoon. Lambert is currently being held on local charges," the statement said, referring to her Michigan-based criminal case.

There was an existing arrest warrant against&nbsp;Lambert for failing to appear at recent court hearings in her separate criminal case in Michigan, where she was charged with conspiring to seize voting machines after the 2020 election.

The ruling by US district judge Aileen Cannon came after a day-long hearing in federal court in Fort Pierce, Florida where Trump's team alleged that the charges against him were "unconstitutionally vague" and the judge expressed doubts about the ex-president's objections to the case.

Donald Trump had asked the judge to dismiss the indictment against him on several fronts. One argument labelled "dubious" by The Guardian contended that the Espionage Act was "unconstitutionally vague" because it did not clearly define penalties for a former president retaining classified documents.

Another argument centred on the Republican's — who just so happens to be a major contender in the 2024 Presidential race — assertion that as President he was allowed under the Presidential Records Act to designate classified documents as personal records, thereby permitting him to keep them at his Mar-a-Lago club.

However, Cannon, appointed by Trump himself, appeared unconvinced by both arguments. While she did not immediately rule from the bench, she swiftly denied the vagueness argument after the hearing concluded.

"Although the Motion raises various arguments warranting serious consideration, the Court ultimately determines, following lengthy oral argument, that resolution of the overall question presented depends too greatly on contested instructional questions about still-fluctuating definitions of statutory terms/phrases as charged," she wrote, as quoted by CNN.
