President Donald Trump has sparked fresh controversy after sharing an image on Truth Social on Monday depicting the United States stretching across continental North America and Greenland. The post is the latest in a series of provocative messages carrying apparent imperial overtones, as Washington’s escalating trade conflict with Canada continues to fuel tensions. Critics quickly condemned the image. “He’s f*king insane,” the group Republicans Against Trump wrote on X. Foreign policy scholar Kurt Taylor Gaubatz also criticised Trump’s recent activity, suggesting that the president’s social media posts were distracting from more serious developments. “I propose all news sources just put a small box in the corner labeled ‘crazy things Trump did yesterday’ and we put his Truth postings and hair changes and the like in that box so they don't distract from the everyday stories about how he is undermining America, democracy, and the world,” foreign policy scholar Kurt Taylor Gaubatz wrote on Bluesky after the presidents posting spree. Trump’s supporters, meanwhile, responded positively to the latest image. The post came after a weekend of similarly provocative messages, including suggestions involving the Strait of Hormuz and a proposal to rename New Mexico “New America.” “LMFAO!” commentator Eric Daugherty wrote on X, adding that Trump was going “full North American empire mode” and “Democrats will be filing Articles of Impeachment over this, worrying that he's going to launch mass invasions.” Trump has previously shared maps and images that appear designed to provoke his political opponents and international rivals. However, his administration has also taken concrete steps involving U.S. geographic naming and foreign policy. Last week, amid the continuing trade dispute with Canada, Trump referred to Lake Ontario as Lake America on US maps. The administration previously changed the US government's designation for the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. The developments come alongside a broader foreign policy approach that critics describe as more aggressive and expansionist than the strategy associated with Trump’s first presidency. That shift is notable because Trump built much of his political identity around criticism of foreign entanglements and skepticism toward traditional US international commitments. Also Read: Amazon cargo plane crash: NTSB recovers flight recorders at Miami airport as victim recovery continues

Trump declares himself ‘greatest’ in Labour Day social media spree
Trump also drew attention over Labour Day with a series of Truth Social posts focused heavily on his own political legacy and claims of personal greatness. In one post, the president appeared to channel imagery associated with Snow White and Muhammad Ali, sharing a picture of a man resembling former President Barack Obama looking into a mirror and seeing Trump.“Mirror mirror on the wall who’s the greatest president of them all,” the image read. Trump followed the image with further claims about his standing among American presidents, presenting himself as the “greatest” president in US history. Another graphic placed Trump’s portrait beneath the words, “The Greatest,” while previous presidents were categorized under labels including “Great,” “Near Great,” “Average,” “Below Average” and “Failures.”

Among those placed in the “Great” category were Abraham Lincoln, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Former presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama were listed among the “Failures,” continuing Trump’s frequent attacks against the two Democratic leaders. The posts arrived as Trump faces mounting political pressure and scrutiny over his administration’s policies, including its handling of the economy, foreign conflicts and relations with other countries. The combination of provocative maps, proposed geographic name changes and self-congratulatory social media posts has intensified debate over Trump’s governing style and his vision of America’s role in the world.

Wall Street firms pay up to $100,000 for early access to Trump’s Truth Social posts

U.S. President Donald Trump spent the weekend turning his Truth Social account into a showcase of AI-generated images, mixing politics with fantasy and personal branding. From historic American heroes to walking with aliens, the U.S. president's posts quickly grabbed attention and sparked conversations online.

One image reimagined Donald Trump as music icon Elvis Presley. Dressed in Elvis' signature white jumpsuit, Trump appears on stage under bright lights with a microphone in front of him. The post offered no explanation, letting the AI image speak for itself.https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/117021606854677237

Another post shows Trump resembling a Revolutionary War commander. The AI artwork depicts him dressed in an eighteenth-century military uniform, leading soldiers into battle, with an American flag in the background.Trump appeared to place himself in the same league as former U.S. presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln after he shared a post containing a fake image of the three of them sitting together.Trump's Truth Social posts once again brought Greenland into the spotlight. His post, captioned "Hello Greenland," showed the U.S. president overlooking the world's largest island, perhaps alluding to his desire for the U.S. to take over Greenland despite pushback from both Greenland and Danish officials.Other posts included AI-generated images tied to Venezuela. One showed a map of the South American country covered in American flags and captioned "51st State." The U.S. president also shared posts attacking political rivals.Together, the weekend's posts perhaps reflected Trump's unique way of amplifying his online messaging.

Whether praised as creative or criticised as provocative, the posting spree showed how Trump is using AI-generated imagery to dominate attention on social media.

‘Deal or total surrender’: Trump says Iran’s leadership dishonest and ‘unbelievably duplicitous’

The United States may be about to get its first real artificial intelligence regulator — and it would be built the way Wall Street polices itself. According to Bloomberg, the Trump administration is considering creating an independent watchdog to vet the safety of advanced AI models before they reach the public, modelled on FINRA, the body that oversees America's brokers. What Is Being Proposed The proposal, developed with the help of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, would establish an independent regulatory agency for AI that reports to the Securities and Exchange Commission — the same structure FINRA uses for the securities industry. The plan is currently under review by White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. The mechanics, as reported: frontier AI labs would submit their most capable models for a thirty-day review before release, with experts screening for three categories of risk — cyber weapons capability, biological weapons capability, and deception. Participation would begin voluntarily, with the possibility of becoming mandatory once testing protocols prove themselves. Why Now The push comes after Silicon Valley leaders complained about the ad-hoc nature of recent US government moves to slow the release of cutting-edge AI systems. For the labs, unpredictable intervention is worse than regulation: a known 30-day process beats a surprise restriction landing mid-launch. What the industry is buying with its cooperation is predictability. The politics are strikingly unified. The administration's plan aligns with policy recommendations published days earlier by Google DeepMind chief executive Demis Hassabis — recommendations publicly praised by Microsoft's Satya Nadella, OpenAI's Sam Altman and Elon Musk, men who agree on almost nothing else in the AI race. What The FINRA Model Actually Means FINRA is a peculiar American invention: a self-regulatory organisation funded by the industry it polices, operating under government oversight. Applied to AI, that means the labs themselves would likely fund and staff their own watchdog, with the SEC above it. The advantages are real — industry insiders have the expertise to evaluate frontier models, and a dedicated body can move faster than Congress. The critique writes itself too: the foxes would be building the henhouse inspection regime. Sceptics have already noted the gaps. A voluntary review of models the labs choose to submit is not a safety guarantee, and key questions remain unanswered — what the assessments would actually test, how the agency would be funded, and what role the SEC would truly play. Policy analysts have argued a 30-day screen, however rigorous, cannot resolve the deeper problem of capabilities that emerge after deployment. The Global Context The proposal lands in a remarkable ten-day stretch in which the world's three power centres each revealed their theory of AI governance. Brussels used competition law to force Google's Android open to rival AI assistants and threatened Meta with a $12 billion fine over addictive design. Beijing launched WAICO, an intergovernmental AI governance body with 29 founding countries, headquartered in Shanghai. And Washington, characteristically, is reaching for a market-native answer: industry-funded self-regulation with a federal backstop. If adopted, it would be the first time in American history that frontier AI models face a formal pre-release safety review — a 30-day speed bump between the lab and the world. In an industry that now ships flagship models weeks apart, even that pause would change the rhythm of the race.

US President Donald Trump launched a blistering attack on major media organisations and political opponents, claiming they would distort the narrative even in the event of a total US military victory over Iran. In a social media post, Trump argued that mainstream outlets would misrepresent the outcome even if the United States achieved what he described as an ‘absolute, unconditional’ defeat of Iran. According to Trump, the media ‘will headline that Iran had a Masterful and Brilliant Victory over The United States of America, it wasn’t even close’. The president used the remarks to intensify his criticism of leading American news organisations, once again assigning mocking labels to several outlets. He referred to The New York Times as ‘The Failing New York Times’, called The Wall Street Journal ‘The China Street Journal’, and described CNN as ‘Corrupt and now Irrelevant CNN’.Trump grouped the organisations together under what he called the ‘fake news media’. Also Read: $100 million Louvre heist set for big-screen adaptation; French filmmaker Romain Gavras to direct

Donald Trump attacked major media outlets and Democrats in a fiery social media post, claiming the press would misrepresent a US victory over Iran

He referred to The New York Times as ‘The Failing New York Times’, called The Wall Street Journal ‘The China Street Journal’, and described CNN as ‘Corrupt and now Irrelevant CNN’. Trump grouped the organisations together under what he called the ‘fake news media’. Also Read: $100 million Louvre heist set for big-screen adaptation; French filmmaker Romain Gavras to direct

Donald Trump’s late-night Truth Social habit has become one of the defining features of his return to the White House. Between midnight reposts, conspiracy-fueled rants, AI-generated memes and attacks on political rivals, the President’s social media feed has become a nonstop MAGA content machine. Now, a new report has revealed the key figure helping keep that machine running: Natalie Harp.
Who is Natalie Harp? What is the process of posting?
According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, Harp, Trump’s 34-year-old executive assistant and longtime loyalist, has become one of the most influential behind-the-scenes figures shaping the President’s Truth Social activity. Harp reportedly compiles screenshots, memes, praise posts and conspiracy-laden content from MAGA influencers, supporters and accounts across X and Truth Social, then presents them to Trump as stacks of printed drafts for approval. The posts often include attacks on Democrats, insults aimed at Trump’s political enemies and content designed to appeal directly to the President’s online instincts. Once Trump signs off, Harp reportedly logs into his Truth Social account, often late at night and outside regular work hours, to publish waves of posts in rapid succession. “Truth Social has never been hotter, and it’s because President Trump offers his unfiltered and direct thoughts to the American people, without the biased media taking him out of context,” White House Communications Director Steven Cheung said in a statement. “We don’t discuss internal deliberations of how the process works, but no other social-media tool has been more effective than Truth.” Also Read: To block declassification? According to people familiar with the matter, Harp frequently bypasses the chief of staff’s office, communications staff and national security officials when handling draft posts. Harp has reportedly told colleagues that she works directly for Trump and answers only to him. For critics, the revelations raise fresh concerns about how presidential messaging is being curated and amplified in the social media age. For Trump supporters, however, the President’s unfiltered posting style remains a core part of his political appeal, chaotic, constant and always online. And increasingly, Natalie Harp appears to be the person helping keep that feed alive deep into the night.

Trump deletes Jesus post
Trump deleted a social media post on Monday after backlash from religious leaders, who accused him of blasphemy over an AI-generated image that appeared to depict him in a Jesus-like role. The image, shared on his Truth Social account late Sunday, showed Trump wearing flowing red and white robes, appearing to heal a sick man by touching his forehead, with a glowing effect around his hand and head. An American flag was visible in the background, while several figures looked on in apparent reverence. The post was removed the following day. When questioned about it, Trump denied that the image was meant to portray him as Jesus Christ, saying: "I did post it, and I thought it was me as a doctor and had to do Red Cross," he told journalists. "It's supposed to be me as a doctor, making people better. And I do make people better. I make people a lot better." https://www.wionews.com/videos/hormuz-crisis-asia-braces-for-food-shock-1776100476820/embed Disclaimer: WION takes utmost care to accurately and responsibly report ongoing conflicts in West Asia involving Israel, Iran, the US, Gulf nations, and non-state actors like Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis, Islamic State, and others. US President Donald Trump, on Friday (January 2), in a Truth Social post, said that he is in perfect health and that he has passed the test for the third straight time. In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, US President Donald Trump addressed concerns about his health, including the noticeable bruises on his hands, an MRI he had, and his tendency to nod off during public meetings. Trump attributed his health to "very good genetics" and offered a rare glimpse into his medical habits, some of which he admitted were driven by "superstition." His comments contrasted with the more cautious explanations provided by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt in the past months. Since his return to office in January, questions about Trump’s health have persisted, especially after photos showing dark bruises on his hands circulated. Leavitt had previously brushed off these concerns, often attributing the bruises to frequent handshaking or his daily aspirin use. However, Trump revealed a different explanation. He confirmed that he takes 325 milligrams of aspirin each day—four times the typical low-dose amount—despite doctors advising him to reduce it. Trump explained that this long-standing habit was tied to superstition, noting that he believes aspirin helps thin his blood, and he doesn’t want to risk "thick blood" running through his heart.

A single post by the winner of the 2024 United States presidential election Donald Trump on Truth Social boosted the stock value of his media company, Trump Media and Technology Group, increasing his net worth by approximately $500 million, CNN reported.

Earlier, Trump Media’s stock had been declining following an initial spike after his election victory earlier in the week. By the time the market opened on Friday, the stock had dropped 42 per cent from its peak on Wednesday.

In the stock market, it’s common for traders to buy shares ahead of a favourable event for a company, only to sell afterwards to secure their profits. This pattern was playing out with Trump Media until the former president intervened.

On Friday (Nov 8), when the stock was falling again, Trump took to his social media platform and said he had no plans to sell his shares in the company. "There are fake, untrue, and probably illegal rumours and/or statements made by, perhaps, market manipulators or short sellers, that I am interested in selling shares of Truth," the former president wrote.

Following his post, the stock rebounded, climbing almost 15 per cent by the end of the day (Nov 8). As the company’s largest shareholder, Trump owns around 114.75 million shares, which rose in value from $3.2 billion to $3.7 billion after the rally. Over the week, however, Trump Media’s stock had only gained about 4.4 per cent.

In the lead-up to the election, while Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris were closely matched in most polls, betting markets leaned towards the Republican, leading investors to invest heavily in assets they believed would be influenced by his leadership.

This optimism fueled a roughly 200 per cent surge in Trump Media stock over the six weeks before the election. Earlier this year, in September, Trump said that he wouldn’t be selling his shares or leaving the platform he created.

With nearly 115 million shares, Trump holds about 53 per cent of Trump Media, which brought his stake’s worth to around $3.7 billion at Friday’s stock price, while the total market cap of the company was close to $7 billion.

Following George Clooney's op-ed in which he urged United States President Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race, presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump on Wednesday (July 10) said that the American actor and filmmaker should stay out of politics.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said, "So now fake movie actor George Clooney, who never came close to making a great movie, is getting into the act."

“He’s turned on Crooked Joe like the rats they both are. What does Clooney know about anything?” he wrote.

"Clooney should get out of politics and go back to television. Movies never really worked for him!!!" the former US president added.

In an op-ed, published in the New York Times, the Hollywood actor who is also a longtime Democrat wrote, "We are not going to win in November with this president."

“I love Joe Biden. As a senator. As a vice president and as president. I consider him a friend and I believe in him. Believe in his character. Believe in his morals. In the last four years, he’s won many of the battles he’s faced,” he added.

“But the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time. None of us can,” Clooney continued.

“It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe 'big F-ing deal' Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate,” said the American actor.

Clooney also said that even though Biden stepping aside would be messy, it would be worth it.

“Joe Biden is a hero; he saved democracy in 2020. We need him to do it again in 2024,” Clooney wrote.

“He uses the Democrat ‘talking point’ that Biden, the WORST President in the history of the United States, has ‘saved our Democracy,’” the presumptive Republican presidential candidate said.

“No, Crooked Joe was the one who WEAPONIZED Law Enforcement against his political Opponent, who created the most devastating INFLATION in the history of our Country, who Embarrassed our Nation in Afghanistan, and whose crazy Open Border Policy has allowed millions of people to illegally pour into our Country, many from prisons and mental institutions,” Trump wrote.

“Crooked Joe Biden didn’t save our Democracy, he brought our Democracy to its knees,” he added.

Following the incumbent US president's disappointing performance against his predecessor in the presidential debate last month, an increasing number of Democrats have publicly urged the president to withdraw from the race.
