<p>Karthik smashed former RCB bowler Harshal Patel for a six and a four in the 18th over as RCB cleared 13 runs from the target, leaving 10 for the last over. Karthik then finished off the game with two back-to-back boundaries in the last over.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After the loss, Babar said at the post-match presentation, "This hurts us. We had a good total. In the bowling, we aren't up to the mark because we are not taking wickets in the middle&nbsp;overs. In the World Cup, if you are not good in even one department, then you'll lose the match."</p>

<p>"In the field, we didn't stop boundaries and gave away runs, that cost us. Bowling - we started well, in the middle overs, we needed wickets but we couldn't take any wickets," said Babar&nbsp;about the shortcomings the team is facing.</p>

<p>"All credit to Afghanistan the way they played in all three departments. That's why they won. We are not playing good cricket in bowling and fielding. We'll try our best in the next match. We didn't hit the lengths in the middle overs, especially our spinners. We couldn't put pressure on the batters," he added.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, a jubilant Afghan skipper Shahidi said, "This win tastes nice. The way we chased was very professional. Looking forward for the other games. The way we chased today, we'll do it again. The quality cricket that we have been playing from the last couple of years, the belief was there when we were playing the Asia Cup also."</p>

<p>At the start of the tournament, I said that we want to make this tournament historic for our country people. First was England, today Pakistan, looking forward for the other games. We'll try our best to play positive&nbsp;cricket and do a lot for our country in this World Cup. The spin bowling department did very well. We gave a chance to Noor and trusted in him, he showed his talent. The way Gurbaz and Ibrahim started the innings, they gave that momentum and confidence. The game was in our hand from the beginning till the end. The last partnership that me and Rahmat played was also good."</p>

<p>Pakistan remain in the fifth spot (four points) after their third defeat on the trot whereas Afghanistan are now in the sixth position.</p>

Karthik made the comments while talking to media outlet Cricbuzz after the Pak pace trio took all 10 wickets in the Asia Cup 2023 match against India.</p>

<p>“Shaheen, Haris Rauf and Naseem can bowl 90+ consistently and all three are very different in nature,” said Karthik. “Shaheen Shah obviously the left-armer, has an angle to it and brings the ball back in, Naseem Shah swings the ball both ways, Haris is arguably one of the best bowlers right now at the back end of an inning because of his skid and the nasty bouncer that he’s got,” he added.</p>

<p>Notably, Pak pacers were all over India in the Asia Cup 2023 match with a perfect display of seam and swing. The best of the lot was Shaheen Afridi who accounted for the wickets of Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja. <p>“For me they are a far more potent attack on flat wickets,” he said. “If there is something in the pitch then both attacks at all times become very equal but if I had to play an attack I have a feeling, I have a better chance of probably playing Jasprit, Bumrah, Siraj and Shami only because the bounce they’ll get will be slightly lesser than what these three other bowlers can do from Pakistan,” he further added.</p>

<p>The game between Pakistan and India, however, did not produce a result as rain marred the second innings after India finished on 266 in 48.5 overs. With Pakistan already through Super Four, India will aim for that same in their match against Nepal on Monday, September 4.</p>

<p>Karthik opined on Australia's XI, who included Todd Murphy after dropping him for the fourth Test. Backing the decision, he told Sky Sports, "Todd Murphy is coming in. We know the pitch is dry.&nbsp;Nathan&nbsp;Lyon has done well at the Oval over a period of time. So the obvious change."</p>

<p>The 38-year-old then recalled India's decision to drop ace spinner Ashwin, who is also the No. 1 ranked Test bowler, during the WTC final in early June. I think we should let that go. But yes, I think they do when they look back at it. That is one of the biggest regrets they could have," he added.</p>

<p>Talking about the WTC finale, Rohit Sharma &amp; Co. won the toss and opted to bowl first. At 76 for 3, Australia were on the back foot before Travis Head's 163 and Steve Smith's 121 propelled them to a daunting 469. In reply, India only managed 296 and gave a healthy 173-run lead before Pat Cummins &amp; Co. set up a challenging 444-run target for the Asian giants.</p>

<p>In their run-chase, India fell for a modest 234 on the final day to lose by a big margin. This became India's second straight defeat in the WTC final.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Australia are now focused on winning their first Ashes series in England since 2001 in the ongoing edition having entered the final Test with an unassailable 2-1 lead. They will look to replicate their performance from the WTC final to register another historic win at The Oval and end their tour of the United Kingdom on a high.&nbsp;</p>

Sharing his own struggling period, DK&nbsp;revealed how he dealt with ups and downs in his career and said, "This is a professional world, you've got to deal with those sorrowful moments but as a player when I look at what he has gone through. <p>Stand-in captain KL Rahul had a good run leading the Indian team in the just-concluded Bangladesh Test, which the tourists won 2-0. He, however, fell flat as a batter while opening the innings with Shubman Gill. Rahul only managed scores of 22, 23, 10 and 2 in the four outings whereas Gill scored his maiden hundred in the format during the series opener in Chattogram.</p>

<p>After the Bangladesh Tests, India have a stern task ahead as they gear up to host Australia in the upcoming edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at home, starting on February 09. Ahead of the marquee series, on home soil, veteran Indian keeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has issued a warning to Rahul to up his game or he will be left out with Gill's rising stocks.</p>

<p>“I would give KL those couple of Test matches, but if things don’t go KL Rahul’s way;&nbsp;the one thing that does go against him is the fact that he has played over 40 Tests and his average is just mid-30s. That is not acceptable for an opener. That is one of the lowest among Indian players for sure, who have played 35 Test matches,"&nbsp;Karthik said while speaking on Cricbuzz.</p>

<p>Karthik added, "That is something that he needs to definitely work on. That will be on his mind. If he wants to cement his place in the Test team, he needs to get a couple of hundreds against Australia. Otherwise, you can definitely see a change, with Shubman Gill doing so well."</p>

<p>There have been reports of Rahul being dropped from India's T20I line-up as well. The Men in Blue will host Sri Lanka, followed by New Zealand, in a white-ball series before the BG Trophy versus Pat Cummins' Australia.</p>

<p>"I think it will be very interesting to see where they bat Rishabh Pant. Big question for Team India is how they will be using Rishabh Pant and I think we will be seeing him at the top of the order and trying to give him enough balls to showcase his skills. He is second to none when it comes to stroke play and has baffled a lot of international bowlers of high pedigree. After two successive wins, Rohit Sharma-led Men in Blue locked horns with Temba Bavuma's South Africa and managed only a modest 133 for 9, riding on Suryakumar Yadav's 40-ball 66.</p>

<p>In reply, the Proteas slipped and were reduced to 40 for 3 before fifties from Aiden Markram (52) and David Miller (59 not out) propelled them to a five-wicket win in the last over. During the run-chase, Karthik suffered&nbsp;a cramp on his back&nbsp;and left&nbsp;the field with&nbsp;Rishabh Pant donning the gloves in the final&nbsp;overs.</p>

<p>Ahead of India's next game, where they take on Bangladesh at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide on Wednesday (November 02), head coach Rahul Dravid spilled the beans on Karthik and gave an update.
