Varun Dhawan enacts Daisy Shah's line from 'Race 3'; Twitter says 'none of your business'

<p>Actor Kareena Kapoor believes the secret to her longevity in the film industry is striking a balance between commercial and alternative cinema.</p>

<p>Kareena says that one should never get stuck to any one genre as that gets boring and there is the added risk of getting typecast. Her aim is to cater to all sorts of audience.</p>

<p>"I am always proud of my glamorous image. One has to enjoy some commercial success. If I have done an 'Udta Punjab', then I have also done the 'Golmaal' series. I have always tried to balance things out.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"To sustain in the film industry for 18 years one has to keep doing exciting work. I do films that suit my personality, my time limit. I do films that I like," Kareena told PTI.</p>

<p>The actor says she has been a risk-taker right from the beginning of her career despite being a commercial heroine.</p>

<p>"When I was 22-year-old, I did 'Chameli' and people thought I would not do it. For me, it is all about having the right balance of things - commercial and being part of different kind of movies."</p>

<p>Citing the example films such as 'Udta Punjab', 'Ki and Ka', 'Chameli'&nbsp;and 'Omkara', Kareena insists that she has always picked up stories that "no mainstream commercial heroine" would do.</p>

<p>"I just see - is this film entertaining, is the script good? Can I see myself in it and do I have a good part? When all these things fall into place I tick a film and I am on board."</p>

<p>For her, there is a difference between being an actor and a star and she says she has always looked at herself first as an actor and then as a star.</p>

<p>"I don't think anyone joins the industry thinking, 'I want to become a star'. You join it because you like acting, you like movies, you are passionate about cinema. I enjoy acting and people like me, my work and that is why I am a star."&nbsp;</p>

<p>She also credits a loyal fan-base for standing by her in her successes and failures.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I have a loyal fan following and I feel lucky to be one of those few actors to have the support of fans. I am a fan-built star as I have had successes and failures and nothing has deterred my fans. My fans have stood by me every time."</p>

<p>But there is a change in her priorities after the birth of son Taimur</p>

<p>"It is interesting when directors write roles for you, but maybe I can't do all kind of roles. Now I look at how much time a film would take. I have a limited amount of time because I have to give a lot of time to family and my son. So I will do one film a year because now I can't do three films."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Her next release is 'Veere Di Wedding', a story about four female friends played by- Kareena, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania, and their trials and tribulations in the society.</p>

<p>"It is a fun film and people are talking about women empowerment and feminism. The story is about four girls. The director came up with this concept. So what is wrong (in that) as there was a 'Dil Chahta Hai' and 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'. This story is from the female point of view...That's it!," Kareena says.</p>

<p>The four protagonists in the film use cuss words but Kareena says she fails to understand why there is so much focus on that.</p>

<p>"Saif Ali Khan was the villain in 'Omkara' and he was bad mouthing. He won a lot of awards for the film. It is required in the film, so it is there. Nobody is doing it just for the sake of it.</p>

<p>"This film's language and the platform is different. The audience we are catering to is also different. We are not forcingly saying anything, the tonality is such."</p>

<p>Madhuri, who has been one of the most popular female actors in Hindi film industry, said audiences have lots of distraction&nbsp;now.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Today, there is so much distraction for people, like Netflix, etc... There is so much clutter. So, to make a place for yourself is difficult," Madhuri told PTI.</p>

<p>"Earlier, only movies were the mode of entertainment, but today there are a lot of other things as well, so to make your own image is all the more difficult," she added.</p>

<p>The 51-year-old actor was last seen on-screen in 2014 in two films- 'Dedh Ishqiya'&nbsp;and 'Gulaab Gang'. She is now back with a Marathi film titled 'Bucket List'.</p>

We will inform everyone as soon as the dates are confirmed. Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience" read a Facebook post from the event`s organiser ODC Entertainment.</p>

<p>The event at Tundikhel, near the Army Headquarters, was earlier scheduled for March 10. However, it later got postponed to April 26.</p>

Salman Khan's Nepal tour cancelled indefinitely

<p>Pakistan's ministry of information has restricted the screening of Indian movies in cinemas on the occasion of Eid next month.</p>

<p>In a notification issued by the ministry, it said the restriction was being carried out&nbsp;in order to "revive and promote the local film industry."</p>

<p>Cinemas in Pakistan would not be allowed to screen Indian movies two days before and two weeks after&nbsp;Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha, the notification said.</p>

<p>The notification ordered importers and distributors of foreign films to restrain from exhibiting and screening Indian films in cinemas across Pakistan.</p>

<p>Pakistan film exhibitors'&nbsp;association chairmen in Sindh and Karachi were requested to ensure the order was implemented including the chairperson of the film censor board of Punjab and Lahore.</p>

Cinemas in Pakistan would not be allowed to screen Indian movies two days before and two weeks after Eid.

Pakistan's ministry of information has restricted the screening of Indian movies in cinemas on the occasion of Eid next month. In a notification issued by the ministry, it said the restriction was being carried out in order to "revive and promote the local film industry." Cinemas in Pakistan would not be allowed to screen Indian movies two days before and two weeks after Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha, the notification said. The notification ordered importers and distributors of foreign films to restrain from exhibiting and screening Indian films in cinemas across Pakistan. Pakistan film exhibitors' association chairmen in Sindh and Karachi were requested to ensure the order was implemented including the chairperson of the film censor board of Punjab and Lahore. 'Dangal' director Nitesh Tiwari's next set for August 30, 2019 release

<p>There will now be a double dose of Hrithik Roshan’s <em>Krrish</em> if reports are to be believed as there are not one but two sequels planned for the film. While <em>Krrish 4</em> announcement was made by papa Rakesh Roshan on Hrithik’s birthday itself but now the filmmaker also plans to floor the sequel to the sequel next year.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to a Mumbai-based daily, the filmmaker plans to start work on the fourth and fifth instalment of Krrish that will go on floors from 2019. It is also said that four to five writers have already started work on both the films at the same time. Meanwhile, talks are still on for the leading lady of the film.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A source quoted in a leading daily said, &nbsp;“Priyanka’s character is already there in the film. It has to be developed further. Alternatively, if there is another heroine, the script has to be modified. What will be interesting to see is if he manages to incorporate more than one girl giving equal space to both. Kangana Ranaut was the other girl in Krrish 3 and that made the film a two-heroine film even though Kangana had more of a negative role."</p>

Hrithik Roshan starrer 'Krrish' gets two sequels, both to kick off from 2019

<p>His box office credentials are unmatched today but Aamir Khan says despite facing initial scepticism of the industry people, he has always been someone who believed in experimenting with film roles.</p>

<p>The actor, who has completed 30 years in Bollywood, walked down the memory lane to reflect on the film choices that set him apart from the crowd and made him feel like a 'lone ranger'.</p>

<p>"When I came into the industry, I was a minority, I was a lone ranger, who was trying to do films that I believed in, but the market did not believe in it and a host of people also did not believe in it," Aamir said in a group interview.</p>

<p>With hits such as "Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak", "Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander", "Baazi", "Earth", "Sarfarosh", "Lagaan" and "Dangal", Aamir has come to be known as one of the most bankable stars in cinema today but the actor said it has not been an easy ride to stardom.</p>

<p>"I was constantly swimming against the tide to do the films I believed in. Now the tide has changed. So the films that I believed in then and no one else did, have actually become more mainstream today."</p>

<p>Aamir, 53, believes the audiences' sensibilities are changing and if "Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander" would have released today, it had better chances at the ticket window.</p>

<p>Asked if he thinks the risk has paid off now, he said, "I don't know if I can say that, I was not doing it for a pay-off, I was just doing it. I was not concerned if it will pay-off or not, my focus was to do films that I believed in. When I do a film like 'Talaash', I know it is not going to be the biggest hit of the year but I want to do it."</p>

<p>The actor has bridged the gap between commercial and content-driven cinema but insisted he is not searching for social content in a film.</p>

<p>"I am not setting out for what the next social issue. I have had a mixed range of films like ''Delhi Belly'', ''Thugs of Hindostan'', ''Dangal'', etc, I am getting drawn to stories which I like."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The actor said he reacts to a script like an audience member.</p>

<p>"It has to be something that excites me, engages me, sometimes it might have a message, sometimes it might not. I don't think whether it is commercial or not. I am not able to think like that. I feel my cinema should be good and I want it to be loved by as many people."</p>

<p>He became a star overnight with success of his debut film as the lead actor in "Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak" in 1988 and realised he had become famous when he could no longer use the public transport. In 1973, Aamir appeared as a child actor in his uncle Nasir Hussain's film "Yaadon Ki Baaraat".</p>

<p>"The first time I sensed I had become popular was after ''Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak''. It was quite mad. I did a successful film, but I didn't have the money to buy a car. I used to travel by autorickshaw, bus or a train but after a point, I couldn't," he said.</p>

<p>"I used to ask my uncle, 'Can I borrow your car? I have to go somewhere... There are just people everywhere I go'," he added.</p>

<p>Aamir said he earned Rs 11,000 for his debut.</p>

The other members of the production team were looking for an actor who could play the part opposite Kareena, that's when Rhea recommended Sumeet's name. First 'Mowgli' trailer: Darker than any Jungle Book film we have seen!

<p>Veteran film and theatre actor Dr. Hemu Adhikari died due to a lung ailment at his residence in Dadar here yesterday, family sources said.</p>

<p>He was 81.</p>

<p>Adhikari, known for his cameo in Rajkumar Hirani's "Lage Raho Munna Bhai" (2006), was suffering from a lung infection for the last one-and-a-half years.</p>

<p>He acted in Sai Paranjpe's "Katha" and Marathi films like "Dhyaas Parya" and "Harishchandrachi Factory".</p>

<p>His last rites were performed last night, the sources said.</p>

<p>The actor is survived by wife, two daughters and a son.</p>

<p>Noted Bollywood and Marathi film actor Sonali Kulkarni expressed her condolences on Adhikari's death.</p>

Veteran film and theatre actor Dr. Hemu Adhikari died due to a lung ailment at his residence in Dadar here yesterday, family sources said. He was 81. Adhikari, known for his cameo in Rajkumar Hirani's "Lage Raho Munna Bhai" (2006), was suffering from a lung infection for the last one-and-a-half years. He acted in Sai Paranjpe's "Katha" and Marathi films like "Dhyaas Parya" and "Harishchandrachi Factory". His last rites were performed last night, the sources said. The actor is survived by wife, two daughters and a son. Noted Bollywood and Marathi film actor Sonali Kulkarni expressed her condolences on Adhikari's death. <p>But did you know that Richa is not just fond of the big screen? Before she became a film actress, she did a lot of theatres and loved it too! Having trained under the guidance of Barry John, Richa has done some interesting work in theatre&nbsp;and till date when time allows, she goes back to the stage so as to reminiscence about where it all started from.</p>

<p>Richa is set to do a special two-show only play with actors likes Vinay Pathak and Ashwin Musharan.</p>

<p>The play will run two shows each in Mumbai and Delhi end of this month.</p>

<p>It comprises of three stories in which Richa will be seen portraying different characters.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Richa has managed to squeeze in time between her manic shoot schedules, as she recently wrapped up Anubhav Sinha’s political satire, <em>Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai </em>and will soon begin shooting for Shakeela biopic and <em>Section 375</em> with Akshaye Khanna.</p>

<p>When asked about going back to the stage, Richa said, “Theatre is an actor’s medium and I love being able to perform on stage whenever I get a chance. When I moved to Bombay, I participated in Thespo and ended up getting to know Q and his company. I am delighted to work with Vinay Pathak again as well.”</p>

Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam starer 'Batti' has been in the news and was delayed by a few weeks, but after a long time we hear hat things have now come back on track for the Shri Narayan Singh film.</p>

<p>The shooting of Yami’s other film, 'Uri' too will start around the same time and hence, Yami is busy figuring out the dates to ensure that none of the projects get hampered.</p>

<p>In a country where PDA continues to be taboo, Sanjay Mishra says his upcoming film 'Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain' is an endearing effort to make showing love to one another, especially for the older couples, more acceptable.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The veteran actor says people have a skewed notion about the idea of love and romance and how it belongs only to youth.</p>

<p>"Romance is not just for a boy and a girl, the romance which takes place around the trees and flowers... Some people have a romance with food, so different things for different people. That's how even Mira and Khusro came to be. We have very limited notion of romance. We have made it like that.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Love is beyond all this. It is ageless. You see an older couple sitting in a cafe sharing coffee and you know that's love when they look at you with those eyes. That's romance," Mishra told in an interview.</p>

<p>Directed by Harish Vyas, the Banaras-set film is a story of a couple, played by Mishra and Ekavali Khanna - married for over 30 years. They try to find love and spark back in their lives with the help of the younger generation - Anshuman Jha and Shivani Raghuvanshi.</p>

<p>Pankaj Tripathi also stars in the film.</p>

<p>Asked why love stories focus on youth, the actor says it is a question that needs to be asked.</p>

<p>"Does it mean that after 20 life is over? That all good things will happen below the age of 30? After that, you're done?</p>

<p>"Maybe someone wakes up late. They would want to achieve something at the age of 60. Will you discourage them? How much of a struggle would that be? To establish oneself in one's own society?"&nbsp;</p>

<p>The actor says language may have been created for the humans to express themselves but people have learned "more cusswords" than saying 'those three lovely words'.</p>

<p>In the film, Mishra plays Yashwant Batra, a conservative middle-class man who tries reigniting his relationship with his wife Kiran, whom he realises he has taken for granted for a long time.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We need to add a little language in our daily lives to acknowledge these gestures, we have learned so many cuss words, this is also possible. Why does 'I love you' has to have such a short shelf life?&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Language is necessary. We express through it. The language of love has become silent. The world would have been different had it been the other way," the actor says.</p>

<p>Mishra says it is unfortunate that the societal norms do not even let people freely express themselves to their mother.</p>

<p>"We don't even feel the need to say it to mothers. This attitude that has been given to us by the society. For that language to emerge, we need to be in touch with ourselves. Then profess love to the other person."<br />
"But you should not say 'I love you' to everyone," he quips.&nbsp;</p>
