<p>The Bhuj airstrip got destroyed in air strikes as Pakistan dropped bombs at the base. It was Karnik and his team that convinced the local village women, as close to 300 of them, to rebuild it so that a flight carrying Indian Army officers could land safely.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Despite heavy Pakistan bombing, it was Karnik and efforts of two other officers, 50 Air Force soldiers and 60 Defence Security personnel, that they kept the airbase operational.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per a report published in Indian Express, the real-life hero when approached on a film being made on his struggle, said: “We were fighting a war and if there had been any casualties of any of these women, it would have been a great loss. But I took the decision and it worked out. I had briefed them where they could take shelter if attacked and they followed it bravely. Also, I could only see Ajay Devgn essaying my character and I’m glad that he’s on board,” he said.</p>

<p>In the era of content-driven cinema, Ajay says today audiences taste has evolved and they have become choosy about the kind of films they want to watch in a theatre.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I don't think the star system will fade away. The audience has become choosy and they will go for the product only if it is a good thing. And that keeps us on our toes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Earlier we used to do films left, right and centre, whatever we want to do we did that and they used to work also. But this is not (happening) in today's time. In today's time rest of the actors especially after our generation have to be more careful and they are careful. It is all about the product," Ajay told PTI.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Ajay feels blessed to be in the industry for close to 28 years.</p>

<p>"I have been very lucky as I did not had to struggle much. But I have always worked hard. I feel hard work and struggle both are different things."</p>

<p>Ajay is busy working on his next film 'Tanaji: The Unsung Warrior', in which he will be reuniting with wife Kajol after a gap of nine years.</p>

<p>Ajay thinks 90s stars including Kajol and his actor friend Tabu, with whom he has shared screen space in quite a few films, are relevant today as they are good performers.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Kajol, one of the most sought after names of Hindi film industry, believes it has become easier to get famous, but being a star is not a cakewalk even today.</p>

<p>"The words star and fame cannot be put together. There are lot of people who are famous today but there are a very few stars. So, it is not synonymous anymore today which used to be there earlier," Kajol told PTI.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The actor, who has been active in films for over 25 years, said she stayed relevant as she decided to grow with time both personally and professionally.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I believe I am relevant today. I believe my personality has a lot to do with it. My personality has grown on screen and off screen with age. I am way smarter, cooler than what I was at the age 16. I am more beautiful. I think I am bound to be relevant in a lot of ways," she said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Kajol made her acting debut in 1992 with Rahul Rawail's 'Bekhudi' and went on to deliver hits like 'Baazigar', 'Yeh Dillagi', 'Karan Arjun', 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', 'Gupt', 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', 'My Name is Khan', 'Fanaa' among others.</p>

<p>But the actor says movies happened to her by chance.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I did not have a great start. My first film did not do well. I have never considered it (acting) as a career, it happened to me and I just went with the flow. I was always on my toes (while choosing a film) and have been choosy always.&nbsp;</p>

I believe my personality has a lot to do with it. My personality has grown on screen and off screen with age. I am way smarter, cooler than what I was at the age 16. I am more beautiful. I think I am bound to be relevant in a lot of ways," she said. Kajol made her acting debut in 1992 with Rahul Rawail's 'Bekhudi' and went on to deliver hits like 'Baazigar', 'Yeh Dillagi', 'Karan Arjun', 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', 'Gupt', 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', 'My Name is Khan', 'Fanaa' among others. But the actor says movies happened to her by chance. "I did not have a great start. My first film did not do well. I have never considered it (acting) as a career, it happened to me and I just went with the flow. I was always on my toes (while choosing a film) and have been choosy always. <p>For those who are not aware with history, Taanaji is a celebrated warrior who is known for the Battle of Sinhagad in the year 1670. At Shivaji's request, he pledged to recapture the fortress of Kondana near Pune. According to legend, he received the order while at his son's wedding and immediately left the festivities. Taanaji and his troops managed to get back the fort with the help of his pet monitor lizard.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series and is scheduled to release on November 22, 2019.</p>

<p>A delegation of Bollywood producers and actors such as Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Karan Johar Tuesday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was on a one-day visit to Maharashtra, at Raj Bhavan here to discuss the issues being faced by the Indian film industry.<br />

The delegation also included prominent film producers such as Ritesh Sidhwani, Siddharth Roy Kapur, the president of the Film Producers Guild, Rakesh Roshan, Ronnie Screwvala, Vijay Singh - CEO - Fox Star Studios and Prasoon Joshi, the chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) along with Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.&nbsp;<br />

The team from the film fraternity gave an overview of the vast growth potential of the media and entertainment industry. They also pitched for lower and uniform rates of GST for the entertainment industry in India, a statement issued by PIB said.<br />

The Prime Minister said that the Indian entertainment industry enjoys immense popularity across the world. It is one of the key elements of India's rising soft power status, globally, he added.<br />

He assured the delegation that the Union Government is supportive of the media and entertainment industry; and would consider the suggestions positively.<br />

In a tweet later, Modi said, "Had an extensive and fruitful interaction with a delegation from the film and entertainment industry. The delegation spoke about the studies being made by the film and entertainment industry, and gave valuable inputs relating to GST for their sector."</p>

<p>Sidhwani, according to the industry sources, urged the prime minister to look towards treating cinema as an "industry" by acknowledging its contribution to the nation's exchequer and fiscal growth, and in promoting bilateral ties between nations as a global cultural ambassador.<br />

"It was a collaborative effort to come forward, address issues and seek solutions from the Prime Minister directly," the insiders said, adding that the PM "acknowledged that our films are being recognised internationally and agreed that filmmakers are no less important than nation-builders".<br />

"He has assured the delegation that he will personally work towards setting up a special committee to look into the industry matters and address them urgently," sources said, adding that it was a "productive meeting with a positive outcome."<br />

The prime minister is on a day's visit to Maharashtra in which he will launch infrastructure and housing projects worth about Rs 41,000 crore in the state.&nbsp;</p>

Ajay Devgn in talks with SS Rajamouli for next film?

<p>Not many years ago, Karan Johar's 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' and Ajay Devgn's 'Shivaay' were set to clash at the Box Office as they were both releasing on Diwali. A few weeks prior to the film's release, Devgn, who had starred, produced and directed the film, accused Johar of paying self-proclaimed critic Kamaal R Khan Rs 25 lakh to badmouth 'Shivaay'and praise ADHM.&nbsp;<br />

<p>Rohit Shetty's films have been either been on male bonding or high octane actioners with the hero in a larger than life character. But the director now wants to diversify and make a film that would revolve around a female police officer.<br />

Rohit, who is known for cop dramas 'Singham' and its sequel, 'Singham Returns', starring Ajay Devgn in the titular role, said the project is in early stages as he is still working on the script.<br />

"We are planning, we are working on the script. It will take time. We are creating a universe where we will have a lady cop," Rohit told reporters at an event.<br />

Rohit said he is looking forward to collaborating with his friend Ajay once again but they have not yet zeroed in on the project.<br />

"We are planning to work together but we don't know which one to go ahead with... 'Singham 3' or next 'Golmaal' or maybe we might make something else."<br />

To ring in his 49th birthday, Ajay Devgn along with his wife, actress Kajol, and their kids Nysa and Yug, flew out of Mumbai during the wee hours of Monday. The actor turned 49 on April 2 and decided to take his family out of Mumbai for vacations to celebrate the special day. Kajol, dressed casually in jeans and a brown top was seen carrying her son Yug, while daughter Nysa, was seen walking alongside her mother. Devgn dressed in a black t-shirt and pair of jeans was seen interacting with a few fans before heading inside.
