Pakistan's Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem's video on the country's Independence Day has gone viral for all the wrong reasons. Nadeem posted a video on Pakistan's Independence Day (August 14) with a 'wake up' call to the nation.
While Nadeem speaks in the now taken down video, a background snoring noise can be heard - making his 'wake up call' to nation ironic. Have a look at the video below:

After the video went viral, Nadeem took it down but not before some users recorded it. The Olympic gold medalist then posted a new video with no background noise.
Ever since he won the gold medal at Paris Games, Nadeem has constantly been showered upon with prizes. The latest in the list of awards is PKR 10 crore and a Honda Civic car.

Punjab Province Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited the Olympian's home in Mian Channu (Khanewal), Punjab and awarded him with the gift. The car gifted by the CM also has a special number.
Nadeem threw the javelin for 92.97 metres to win the gold and the same has been put up as the car registration number, posted governing coalition party PML-N on its official X handle.
Earlier, the government of Pakistan also announced the country's second-highest civil award Hilal–i-Imtiaz for Nadeem after winning the country's first Olympic gold medal.
The Olympian was also given a hero's welcome upon his arrival in Pakistan after winning the country's first individual gold medal.
"I reached my country and I saw the love of our people in my town. I am thankful to all the people who have showered me with this love which is more than medal. I am also thankful for such a welcome," Nadeem told WION's Anas Mallick in a chat.
"Struggle is part of every athlete's life, be it me or Neeraj. He also had blessings and I also had blessings. I am very happy that we are the only two players from South Asia, who have performed all over the world," he added.
