Manchester City, Newcastle United, Sheffield United, Arsenal, Norwich City, Manchester United, Leicester City and Chelsea are the remaining eight teams in the FA Cup 2019-20 and all the clubs would be hoping to lift the coveted trophy.

The English Football Association (FA) on Friday announced the restart date for the 2019-20 FA Cup, which has been on hold since the COVID-19 outbreak. On Thursday, it was announced that the Premier League 2019-20 season will resume on June 17 whereas the FA has followed it up by announcing the fixtures of the FA Cup, the quarter-finals of which will now be played over the weekend of June 27 and June 28.

While the quarter-finals are scheduled in the last weekend on June, semi-finals of FA Cup 2019-20 will be played on July 11 and 12 with the final set to be played on August 1.

Provisional 2019-20 Emirates FA Cup schedule

Quarter-finals: 27 June & 28 June

Semi-finals: 11 July & 12 July

Final: 1 August

Further information on venues and timings will be announced in due course.

"The competition has been an integral part of the English football calendar for nearly 150 years, and we’d like to thank the Premier League executive and clubs for their support in scheduling the remaining matches during this unprecedented time.

"This has been a difficult period for many people and, while this is a positive step, the restart date is dependent on all safety measures being met. The health and wellbeing of players, staff and supporters remains our priority.”

The schedule for the Emirates FA Cup quarter-finals, which was originally drawn on 9 March, is:

  • Leicester City v Chelsea
  • Newcastle United v Manchester City
  • Sheffield United v Arsenal
  • Norwich City v Manchester United
