India's Rahul Aware was in action in the Men's Freestyle 57 kg category.
Rahul defeated Takahashi 15-7 to clinch gold. This is India's 13th gold medal.
He takes the Indian flag around himself and rakes in the loud chants from a packed arena.
Aware faced trouble in the semi-final from a spirited Muhammed Bilal of Pakistan but still clinched a thrilling 12-8 victory, to set up final bout against Steven Takahashi of Canada.
Aware, appearing in his maiden CWG, did well to qualify for the title decider after opening his campaign by overpowering George Ramm of England and Australia's Thomas Cichhini by technical superiority.
He subsequently took an 11-0 lead over his opponent in the Round of 16 before outclassing the quarter-final opponent with relative ease in the first round too.
