With 'Operation Balakot', India hit Pakistan inside its territory, not just in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) which required a lot of political courage, foresight and thinking, said Tilak Devasher, a former bureaucrat.
By undertaking an operation like this India had sent a strong message to Pakistan that ''We will not accept terrorism anymore'', Devasher added.
India hit Pakistan where it hurts the most and definitely crossed the Rubicon, he added.
Devasher feels that 'Operation Balakot' is a very significant and fundamental change in the dynamics of Indo-Pak relations.
''We have broken the shackles of restraint which we had put on ourselves for several decades,'' he added.
The reaction from the global community has also been very encouraging and they have accepted that this kind of counter-terrorism measure which every nation has the right to resort to when attacked by terrorists, he said.
