India's ambassador to China Gautam Bambawale had said earlier that India and Pakistan will not hold any formal meeting on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation(SCO) summit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi metwith Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain in China's Qingdao at theShanghai Cooperation Organisation(SCO) summit on Sunday.
The two leaders shook hands after signing of agreements between the SCO nations.
The meeting between the two leaders holds significance as the relations between India and Pakistanis inturmoil because of the continued ceasefire violation.
This is the first time when Indiaand Pakistan participated in the SCO meeting as permanent members.
India's ambassador to China Gautam Bambawale had said earlier that India and Pakistan will not hold any formal meeting on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation(SCO) summit.
Bambawale had said that the leaders of the two countries may talk during the summit but there will be "no formal meeting" with Pakistan.

"Neither have we nor has Pakistan asked for a formal meeting but during such summits leaders may talk on the sidelines but there will be no formal meeting (with Pakistan)", Indian Ambassador to China, Gautam Bambawale said.
He had also said, "terror will certainly be a substantial part of the discussion".
