India: Teenage boy watches porn, rapes and murders younger sister; mother and 2 sisters help hide crime

A 13-year-old boy, his mother and two elder sisters have been arrested from the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh after the teenager raped and murdered his nine-year-old sister in April, earlier this year.

The incident took place in Rewa district of the state when the boy raped his sister after watching porn on mobile phone.The police managed to crack the case after detaining the teenager, mother and his two sisters, aged 17 and 18, whilst interrogating nearly 50 people.

"A nine-year-old girl was raped and strangled to death under Jawa police station limits on April 24, following which the police had registered a case and started a probe,"Rewa's Superintendent of Police (SP), Vivek Singh was quoted as saying by news wire agency PTI.

The body of the little girl was found in the courtyard of the house where she was sleeping at the time of the incident.

The intense questioning based on technical evidence revealed that the brother had slept beside the girl at night and after watching a porn video, raped her.When the sister threatened to inform the father, he strangled her.

"The boy strangled her and later woke up his mother and confided in his mother. She then found that the victim was still alive. On seeing that, the accused again strangled her," the police added.

Meanwhile, the two elder sisters, who woke up amid the commotion, changed the spot of their bed to mislead the officers during the probe. However, they both broke down during the questioning and admitted to their crime.

The family went to great lengths to hide the crime. They told the police that the girl had died after being bitten by a poisonous insect.Additionally, there were no signs of forced entry into the house and the family members reported no unusual noises during the night.

The police have detained all four family members and further legal steps are being taken based on the findings of the investigation.
