'Veere Di Wedding' box office collections: Film mints Rs 56 crore in the first week of release

'Veeres'of Veere Di Wedding have more reason to cheer as their film continues to rule the box office. After crossing Rs 50 crore on Wednesday, the film now sits at Rs 56.96 crore in the first week of its release.
The Shashanka Ghosh directorial brought together the likes of Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania in a new-age girl gang kind of romance and friendship tale. The film has now recorded the fifth highest week 1 box office figures in 2018 considering it competes with films like Padmaavat, Baaghi, Raid and PadMan that had massive expectations from them since the start.
The film co-produced by Ekta Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor and Nikhil Dwivedi, has been getting praises for its unabashed portrayal of the modern Indian woman and the problems faced by them in the contemporary world.
