Salman broke glass bottle on Somy Ali's head
The actor was dating Somy Ali in the early 1990s. Media reports had claimed that in a fit of rage, he had broken glass bottle on Somy Ali's head one night. Years later, Somy, in her memoir, had denied the news.
Salman Khan's disturbedrelationship with Aishwarya Rai
Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai had a turbulent love story. Their relationship was tabloid headlines for months after their break-up as Aishwarya had opened up and revealed that she was in an abusive relationship. She had on record said, she was a victim of domestic violence. While the actress had never openly named Salman, it was a widely known fact that the couple's relationship was a troubled one and many claimed that Salman had physically assaulted Aishwarya Rai.
Salman Khan's spat with Vivek Oberoi
After breaking up with Salman, Aishwarya reportedly started dating Vivek Oberoi. In 2003, Oberoi held a press conference claiming Salman had called him one night 31 times and even threatened to kill him. Salman was reportedly miffed with Oberoi for dating Aishwarya.
2002 hit and run case
The actor got into legal trouble in 2002 when he was accused drunk driving. His car reportedly ran into a bakery in Mumbai, killing one and injuring four. The case was most talked about and it stretched for years. Khan was accused of manipulating witnesses. He was eventually acquitted by the Bombay High Court in 2015.
The brawl between Salman and Shah Rukh Khan
At Katrina Kaif's, (then ex-girlfriend), birthday party both Khans got into an ugly fight. This happened when SRK reportedly made some remarks on Aishwarya Rai which didn't go well with Salman. The fight went on till five-year post and both the stars stopped talking to each other. They patched up at Baba Siddiqui's Iftar party in 2013 where they both hugged each other and broke the cold war.
Salman Khan on 26/11 attack
The nation was irked when Salman Khan had made insensitive remarks 26/11 attack on Mumbai. He got into trouble when he said in an interview to a Pakistani channel that the attack was highlighted just because it was targetted at the elite class, as it took place at a 5-star hotel in Mumbai. It did not go well with the political parties and Salman had to apologise for his statements later.
Salman Khan using the word 'Bhangi'
Salman Khan landed himself into controversy after using the word 'Bhangi' when he was asked to comment on his dancing style. This didn't go well with the members of the Valmiki community who launched a complaint against the actor. The angry members of the community also held protests against him. The actor later issued an apology.
Salman Khan's 'rape' comment
When asked about the rigorous shooting schedule of Sultan, he had commented that he felt like a raped woman when the shooting got over. 'When I used to walk out of that ring, it used to be actually like a raped woman walking out,"the actor had said while comparing his physical exhaustion to the condition of a raped women. This sparked controversy and the actor later had to issue an apology. The gang-rape victim from Hisar send a notice to Salman and sought 10 crore compensation for belittling rape victims.
Salman Khan after tweeting in support of Yakub Memon
Salman had tweeted in support of 1993 Mumbai serial blast convict Yakub Memon. Soon after the verdict on the Mumbai serial blast was declared, Khan had tweeted,"Brother is being hanged for tiger” and followed it up with " “1 innocent man killed is killing the humanity”. Uproar ensued on social media. Salim Khan, the actor's father, had to intervene to save him and Khan later had to apologise.
