Kanye West postpones France concert amid possible ban after UK snub

Kanye West cancelled his concert in France days after he was barred from entering the UK to headline Wireless Festival due to his past controversial statements. 

Kanye West is reaping what he has sown. The controversial American rapper, who also goes by the name Ye, has postponed his concert in France after learning that the country may ban the artist from performing there over his antisemitic remarks.

West's statement has come after his scheduled performance faced the backlash from Benoît Payan, the mayor of the southern coastal city and French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez, who have said that the rapper has no place in the country.

Kanye West postpones France concert

On Tuesday night, West, in a post shared on X, wrote,''After much thought and consideration, it is my sole decision to postpone my show in Marseille, France until further notice.”

In another post, the musician wrote,''He added in a follow-up post, “I know it takes time to understand the sincerity of my commitment to make amends I take full responsibility for what’s mine but I don’t want to put my fans in the middle of it My fans are everything to me Looking forward to the next shows See you at the top of the globe.”

He was set to perform in Marseille, France, on June 11 at Stade Vélodrome as part of his 2026 comeback tour. He has not shared any new date of the France show or for how long it has been postponned.

Kanye is banned from entering the UK

The Donda rapper may be one of the most renowned personalities in the world, but what he has done and said in the last few years is finally leading people to ban him.

The reports of France reportedly banning West due to his antisemitic remarks come after he was banned from entering the United Kingdom to headline Wireless Festival in mid-July due to criticism of his antisemitic remarks. Last year, he also released a song titled Heil Hitler and later sold t-shirts with the Nazi symbol Hakenkreuz.

West has been giving controversial statement from the last few years. In 2022, he wrote in a post that he would go “death con 3 On Jewish people”.
