'Avengers: Endgame' falls short of $105 million to topple world's highest grossing film ever, 'Avatar'

There seems to have been a stop to the collections of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ after trade pundits predicted that the superhero film will become the world’s highest-grossing film ever.

Having been running in the theatres for over a month now, the film has broken many domestic and international records according to the US box office. It has also become the only film after ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ to surpass $800 million at the US box office. In the US, the Star Wars film had collected a staggering $936.6 million. Endgame came a close second after the 4 days long memorial day weekend and grossed $803.6 million.

When it comes to the worldwide box office, Avengers film falls short of $105.1 million to topple the no. 1 film, James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’. ‘Avengers: Endgame’ worldwide box office collection so far has reached $2.683 billion with ‘Avatar’ sitting at $2.788 billion.

In India, Endgame became the highest-grossing Hollywood film in India by crossing the Rs 250 crore mark at the domestic box office. ‘Avengers: Endgame’ beat its own prequel ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ by more than Rs 130 crore.

Meanwhile, in China, the film became the biggest Hollywood film crossing $600 million marks becoming the third highest grossing film in China.
