'Thinking about how...,' Yashasvi Jaiswal on missing 100 against Zimbabwe in 4th T20I

India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has opened up on missing the century against Zimbabwe in the fourth T20I. Jaiswal was unbeaten on 93 while skipper Shubman Gill was not out on 58 as India won the game by 10 wickets and took a 3-1 lead in the series.

"I really enjoyed playing today. It was an amazing experience with Shubman. Of course, whenever I play for India, I feel proud. We were thinking about how to finish the game and make sure to win it for the team. The only thought running through our mind was to get the game over with and win by no wickets lost," Jaiswal said in response toa questionfrom the Harare crowd on Saturday (Jul 13).

Jaiswal was on 83 and Gill was batting on 41 when India needed 25 off 42 balls. Gill then went to score seven runs in the next over including a boundary and kept the strike after taking a single on fifth ball of the 14th over.

In the 15th over, Gill reached his fifty on the first ball with a double and hit a six next ball. Jaiswal got the strike on the fifth ball of the over and hit a six as well - leaving India two runs to win and Jaiswal on 89.

India won the match on the second ball of the 16th over with Jaiswal hitting four after Gill took a single on the first ball.

India also won the final match of the five-match series on Sunday (Jul 14) and wrapped the series with a 4-1 victory.

Gill emerged as the highest run scorer in the series, scoring 170 runs across five matches while Jaiswal was second on the list with 141 runs.

Among bowlers, Mukesh Kumar and Washington Sundar took eight wickets each.
