It often gets impossible to locate vehicles in a crowded parking in urban cities, especially motorcycles. To tackle this problem, manufacturers like Yamaha and Honda have started offering the 'Answer Back' feature on certain models. This feature enables riders to easily locate their bikes in crowded areas with just one click on the mobile app. The vehicle then responds with flashing blinkers and beeps from its buzzer for a few seconds, helping the owner to find his/her way back to the vehicle.
However, to use this feature, owners for about will need to download the ‘Yamaha Scooter Answer Back’ application from Google Play Store or App Store and select the answer back option on the app.
Yamaha recently added this feature to its RayZR Street Rally premium scooter which has been made available at a price of INR 98,130 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The vehicle has been upgraded for 2024 with another addition of LED Daytime Running Light (DRL). It is now available in all new Cyber Green color along with existing color options - Ice Fluo-Vermillion, and Matte Black.
Apart from the RayZR Street Rally, Yamaha offers this feature on the Fascino S scooter, which is retailed at a starting price of INR 93,730 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The scooter also offers an advanced automatic Stop and Start System (SSS) including Normal and Traffic riding modes.
Other than Yamaha, its rival Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India also offers a similar functionality on the Activa 6G Smart Key edition. The scooter comes with a smart key that can be used to locate the vehicle in crowded areas. When the rider clicks the 'Answer back' button on the smart key, all four blinkers of the scooter will blink twice, helping figure out its location. The smart key can also be used to lock/unlock the vehicle, access the under-seat storage, and open the fuel lid.
Both Yamaha and Honda are expected to bring this feature to its others models in the future as the functionality is a great boon for vehicle owners.
