Chinese electric vehicle (EV) leader BYD has announced significant year-end discounts on two of its popular models — the Song Pro DM-i hybrid and the Qin Plus EV. The promotional pricing, which began in December, will remain in effect until January 26, 2025, providing customers with substantial savings as the year closes.

According to details posted on BYD's official website, the Song Pro DM-i hybrid and the Qin Plus EV are now available starting at 99,800 yuan (approximately USD 13,673). This represents an 11.5% reduction for the Song Pro DM-i and a 9.1% price cut for the Qin Plus EV.

BYD’s strategic price reductions come at a time of increasing competition in China’s EV market, which has witnessed aggressive price wars among automakers vying for market dominance. By introducing these discounts, BYD aims to attract cost-conscious buyers and further solidify its leading position as the country's top EV manufacturer.

This move aligns with BYD's broader strategy to make green technology more accessible. As a leading player in EV and plug-in hybrid segments, BYD has continually sought to push the envelope on affordability and innovation.

Popular Models Offering Value for Money

The Song Pro DM-i hybrid is known for its advanced fuel efficiency and high performance, making it a popular choice among urban commuters. Meanwhile, the Qin Plus EV, with its sleek design and long-range capabilities, appeals to consumers looking for a high-value all-electric vehicle. These new prices aim to make these models even more appealing in the budget-conscious mid-market segment.

Closing the Year with Momentum

With its year-end discounts, BYD is not only attracting buyers but also aiming to close 2024 on a high note. This campaign is part of its broader efforts to maintain growth and set a strong foundation for 2025. As competition in the EV market intensifies, BYD’s pricing strategy could play a crucial role in sustaining its leadership position while promoting the broader adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles.
