During a conversation on Star Sports, Irfan Pathan expressed shock at Sunrises Hyderabad's lifeless shows in IPL 2021 and called attention to that David Warner's captaincy and batting are to be accused generally.

A joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Indian Army and CRPF started a cordon and search operation in the area after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the area. According to Jammu and Kashmir Police, the hiding terrorists fired at security forces after the cordon was tightened and led to an encounter. J&K: Two terrorists killed in encounter with security forces in Shopian

The traditional Kashmiri silk carpets will soon be enhancing the beauty of the new Indian Parliament building. Can you Imagine, in the remotest village of Kashmir Valley where these carpets are being made, the artisans don't even know where the Indian Parliament is but are extremely joyous and proud that their hard work will be showcased at India's highest constitutional institution.&nbsp;

The artisans from this remote village of Khanpur area in central Kashmir's Budgam district are working day and night to make Kashmiri Silk Carpets for the Indian Parliament building in New Delhi. Over a dozen carpets are being made by 50 artisans in the village.&nbsp;

''We are making these carpets for the New Indian Parliament. It's been months since we are working on these carpets and within a few days now, we will complete them. We are working day and night and most of the people in this village are working in the craft industry. The design is very different, and it was a little difficult to make but finally, we made it. It's a very intricate design. It took us double the time and it turned out to be extremely beautiful. There are around 12 carpets being made for the parliament. It will give us immense happiness when people see our work in the parliament,'' said Tariq Khan, Artisan.&nbsp;

Ghulam Ahmad Khan and his family have been in the carpet industry for the last 30 years. He says that making carpets for India's highest constitutional institution is a proud moment for them. The family received the order in the month of November 2021. Around 90 per cent of the work has been completed.&nbsp;

''It's an extremely happy moment. It's the first time in my life that I have received such an order. It's a proud moment for all of us. We are very happy, and this will help promote the industry further. It will give us a new identity when it's put up in the parliament,'' said Ghulam Mohammad Khan, Carpet Dealer.&nbsp;

The size of these 12 carpets is 11 feet by 8 feet each. And all these 12 carpets would later be put in a circular order at the Parliament.&nbsp;

''The size of the carpet is different. It starts with less width and goes on to become bigger. The bottom of the carpet is half the length of the top. The design is taken from the traditional Kashmiri shawls. It's very intricate and it makes it different from the rest. Around 90 per cent of the work is finished and within a few days, I think all the work will be completed. In total, we are making 12 carpets for the parliament. 9 are complete and work is going on three. We are hoping we will be able to finish it in a few days. We are extremely proud that Kashmiri carpets will go to the new parliament. Especially for the artisans who are working day and night for making these carpets. It's a proud moment for all of us. Indian Army along with Jammu and Kashmir Police had carried out an operation in Uri sector where three terrorists belonging to Pakistan were killed near the Line of Control while they were trying to infiltrate into the Indian side.

The Indian Army called it an unusual recovery as mostly the terrorists carry AK series rifles or M4 Series American rifles.&nbsp;“M16 Chinese rifle is an unusual recovery. This rifle is a 9mm calibre weapon and it will be speculative to say anything further on it, till we check the past records,” said GoC 19 Div, Ajay Chandpuria, Indian Army.&nbsp;

All the three terrorists were killed in a short fire fight. Arms and ammunition were recovered from them. Since the weather was bad, so it took time to carry the search operation,” said GoC 19 Div, Ajay Chandpuria.&nbsp;

Security forces have reports that around 120-140 terrorists are waiting at the launch pads to cross over to Indian territory.

Recovery of Chinese M16 rifle in J&K ambush perplexes security forces

Do you know the canine team of the Indian Army&nbsp;is the first responder in every anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir? The success of these operations mostly depends on the highly trained members of the Indian Army's dog squad.

The security forces in Jammu and Kashmir are using high-tech equipment like drones and pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras in anti-terror operations. And now the dogs equipped with GoPro cameras and walkie-talkies used for giving commands to them during operations. This has proven to be one of the most effective and safest ways to carry out an operation.

The dogs from the unit are first sent to detect the location of the hiding terrorists and the&nbsp;arms and ammunition they are carrying. The feed from cameras fitted on these dogs is monitored from a control room. These dogs are trained to enter the location of the hiding terrorists without getting noticed by them. They are also trained not to bark during these operations.

If these dogs are noticed by the hiding terrorists and are attacked by them, the dogs respond with a counter-attack. The handler of the dog always keeps a sharp vigil on the situation.

''Our dogs are doing wonderful service for the Army as well as the civil population in city areas. They are being used extensively for explosive detection in Road Opening Party (ROP) duties, for sanitising any VIP or vulnerable area. They are actively used as the first responders in the operations also,'' said Abhay Khokhar, Lt Col, Dog Squad, Indian Army.

The Indian Army has various breeds of dogs in its units across India. These include labradors, german shepherds, Belgian malinois and great mountain swiss dogs. Among the Indian breeds, the mudhol hound is part of the units as well. These dogs are used for various purposes like guard duty, patrolling, sniffing explosives including Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), mine detection, sniffing contraband items, including drugs, and attacking targets.

''We have eight major specialities of army dogs in the Indian Army, they are used for explosive and mine detection, tracking, search and rescue operations, avalanche rescue missions and other situations as per requirements. We train dogs as per the requirements of the Indian Army. Majorly, we have&nbsp;labradors, german shepherds, and recently introduced Belgian shepherds. Apart from these international breeds, we have tried certain Indian breeds also like Mudhol Hounds. We have trained them for various tasks, and they have been deployed in the Indian Army and are doing well,'' added Lt Col Abhay Khokhar.

Every Indian Army dog has a handler to train and guide them daily. The main training starts at the Remount and Veterinary Corps Centre and College in Meerut. These dogs are trained for over nine months and later for three months on the ground. The Army keeps these dogs for around seven-eight years depending on their agility. These dogs are provided special food and nutrition to keep them healthy and active.

"All these dogs are trained at the RVC Centre and College at Meerut where we have a proper facility for training. After training, these dogs are inducted into dog units which are mostly in the field. We keep training them as per requirements in the operational areas. They are given a balanced diet comprising&nbsp;rice, milk, meat vegetables, dog biscuits and other supplements,'' said Lt Col Khokhar.

The Indian Army has more than 27 dog units across the country. Around 24 dogs are a part of one unit. Some dogs are born in the RVC Centre and some of them are brought from outside. The Indian Army chooses the best ones and trains them after checking if they are suited for the environment.

''There are many things that we look for in an Army Dog. We see whether the dog is trainable and&nbsp;suited for the environment they are to be placed in. Whether they are fit for Indian weather, summer, and winters. We keep all this in mind and then select a breed and give them respective tasks. Every breed has its pros and cons.&nbsp;We select the breeds keeping in mind the task for&nbsp;them. For protection work, for guard duties, and assault duties, we prefer Belgian shepherds and german shepherds. For sniffing purposes, we use&nbsp;labradors. We are using mudhol hounds, cocker spaniel, and many other Indian breeds,'' he added.

The Indian Army even has special awards for dogs for their bravery. From the Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card, Vice Chief of Staff Commendation Card and GOC in Chief Commendation Card, these dogs are awarded for their performance during various operations.

The Indian Army recently lost a dog named Axel in an operation in Jammu and Kashmir. Axel was shot dead by terrorists in North Kashmir's Baramulla district. Two-year-old Axel was given a gallantry award by the Government of India on Independence Day.

They are being used extensively for explosive detection in Road Opening Party (ROP) duties, for sanitising any VIP or vulnerable area. They are actively used as the first responders in the operations also,'' said Abhay Khokhar, Lt Col, Dog Squad, Indian Army. The Indian Army has various breeds of dogs in its units across India. These include labradors, german shepherds, Belgian malinois and great mountain swiss dogs. Among the Indian breeds, the mudhol hound is part of the units as well. These dogs are used for various purposes like guard duty, patrolling, sniffing explosives including Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), mine detection, sniffing contraband items, including drugs, and attacking targets. ''We have eight major specialities of army dogs in the Indian Army, they are used for explosive and mine detection, tracking, search and rescue operations, avalanche rescue missions and other situations as per requirements. We train dogs as per the requirements of the Indian Army. Majorly, we have labradors, german shepherds, and recently introduced Belgian shepherds. Apart from these international breeds, we have tried certain Indian breeds also like Mudhol Hounds. We have trained them for various tasks, and they have been deployed in the Indian Army and are doing well,'' added Lt Col Abhay Khokhar. Every Indian Army dog has a handler to train and guide them daily. The main training starts at the Remount and Veterinary Corps Centre and College in Meerut. These dogs are trained for over nine months and later for three months on the ground. The Army keeps these dogs for around seven-eight years depending on their agility. These dogs are provided special food and nutrition to keep them healthy and active. "All these dogs are trained at the RVC Centre and College at Meerut where we have a proper facility for training. After training, these dogs are inducted into dog units which are mostly in the field. We keep training them as per requirements in the operational areas. They are given a balanced diet comprising rice, milk, meat vegetables, dog biscuits and other supplements,'' said Lt Col Khokhar. The Indian Army has more than 27 dog units across the country. Around 24 dogs are a part of one unit. Some dogs are born in the RVC Centre and some of them are brought from outside. The Indian Army chooses the best ones and trains them after checking if they are suited for the environment. ''There are many things that we look for in an Army Dog. We see whether the dog is trainable and suited for the environment they are to be placed in. Whether they are fit for Indian weather, summer, and winters. We keep all this in mind and then select a breed and give them respective tasks. Every breed has its pros and cons. We select the breeds keeping in mind the task for them. For protection work, for guard duties, and assault duties, we prefer Belgian shepherds and german shepherds. For sniffing purposes, we use labradors. We are using mudhol hounds, cocker spaniel, and many other Indian breeds,'' he added. The Indian Army even has special awards for dogs for their bravery. From the Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card, Vice Chief of Staff Commendation Card and GOC in Chief Commendation Card, these dogs are awarded for their performance during various operations. On further interrogation, the terrorist confessed to their plan to attack the Indian Army Post. Tabarak Hussain stated that he was sent by a Colonel of Pakistan Intelligence Agency named Col Yunus Chaudhry who had paid him 30,000 Pakistani Rupees. Tabarak also revealed that he along with other terrorists had carried two/ three close recces of Indian forward posts with an aim to target them at an opportune time. There was one more operation where a group of two to three terrorists tried to infiltrate in Lam sector of Naushera(J&amp;K).&nbsp;

The Indian Army troops were able to observe the terrorists as they crossed the Line of Control and continuously monitored this movement. As they moved ahead into our minefields a series of mines got activated and two terrorists got eliminated on the spot. The search for the third terrorist continues.&nbsp;

“In the morning of 23 Aug 2022, a quadcopter was flown over the area and bodies of the two dead terrorists were observed. A deliberate operation was launched through the heavily mined area and the bodies of the two terrorists have been recovered along with one AK-56, three Magazines and a large quantity of ammunition and&nbsp;war-like stores. As the area is heavily mined, the search operation is being carried out carefully and is still in progress. More recoveries in the area are expected.,” said Lt Col Devender Anand, PRO (Defence) Indian army.&nbsp;

The security across the Line of Control has been increased and put on high alert after these infiltration bids.&nbsp;

Two infiltration bids foiled in Rajouri, two terrorists killed, one Pakistani terrorist captured alive

All is not well within the People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD). The division and differences among the parties have come to the fore for the first time. The regional political party National Conference has announced that it will contest upcoming assembly elections on its own.&nbsp;

The National Conference in a press release said that members expressed dismay over the ''recent statements, audio jingles, and speeches made by some of the constituents of the PAGD targeting JKNC. The provincial committee members unanimously resolved that JKNC should prepare to contest all the 90 assembly seats."&nbsp;

However, the president of the National Conference and chairman of the Gupkar Alliance, Dr. Farooq Abdullah&nbsp;said that all is well with the PAGD, and the alliance will never break. He stated that the decision on whether to run in an alliance or separately will be made at a later date when elections will be held. 
 
"If you cannot be courageous, you cannot do anything good for the people. Besides, there is a need to keep ourselves ready for the sacrifices," Abdullah said.&nbsp;

The other alliance partners in the PAGD have also come out in support of the PAGD Unity. PDP chief spokesperson Suhail Bukhari said that PAGD came into existence for a larger cause. "As far as some constituents issuing statements vis a vis the election, if any constituent has any reservation in the electoral alliance, it will be their own decision. but definitely would not affect the unity of PAGD. PAGD will continue to fight for the rights and dignity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir," he said.&nbsp;

Other political parties like the BJP and Apni Party termed the PAGD alliance as unholy and said it was bound to break.

BJP spokesperson Altaf Thakur said that the statement from the National Conference about going solo in the upcoming elections means all is not well within the alliance. ''The alliance is about to break as there are many ideological differences among the parties in the PAGD. And it's quite evident now, after the statement of NC, that it's bound to break soon. NC has understood that people have not accepted PAGD and that's why they want to break free from the alliance,'' Thakur added.

Apni Party vice president Ghulam Hassan Mir said that&nbsp;PAGD has no roadmap or vision. "The National Conference is a political party, and their main motive is power. They will fight elections on their own, NC Patron Farooq Abdullah has handed over the power to his son Omar, and it's his responsibility to keep the party intact. Farooq Abdullah tries to be bigger than he is. He is trying to be more than the National Conference, which is not a fact."

One narco terror infiltration bid was also foiled in the Samba region of Jammu and one Pakistani intruder was injured in the operation. He managed to escape to Pakistan territory in an injured state. &nbsp;

It was only after the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan in February 2021 that these people started living a normal life. To help people living in these regions, the Indian Army has started a camp in remote areas of North Kashmir's Kupwara district to help people who require an artificial limb, wheelchair or a hearing aid. ''Indian Army in coordination with Spark Minda Foundation is organising a six-day artificial limb fitment camp in Kupwara. The camp is being conducted from August 22nd to 27th, with an aim to help those needy locals not having the financial means to get an artificial limb, wheelchair & hearing aid. Artificial limbs, wheelchairs, hearing aids, auxiliary crutches and hand sticks will be given to the needy during the camp. Till now, 82 patients have been given medical care and 300 more will be benefiting from this camp in the coming days," said Brigadier Vinod Singh Negi of the Indian Army. The locals living in remote villages of this areas are extremely grateful to the Indian Army for holding the camp for them. Many victims of the ceasefire violations are being helped in the camp. ''Bashir Ahmad had lost his leg years ago in ceasefire violation, and today he was given an artificial limb by the Indian Army. Another man Yousuf Khan, who lost his hearing during shelling in the area, has been given a hearing aid. Many people who were victims of the ceasefire violations were provided medical help by the Indian Army,'' said Habib Ullah, Sarpanch of Machhil. After thirty long years, cinema is returning to Kashmir valley. The first multiplex is opening in Srinagar City to provide entertainment to the youth of Kashmir. Cinema halls in the valley were closed in the early 90s after terrorism found its roots in the region. Kashmir had around 15 cinema halls at the time but all&nbsp;of them were forced closed by terrorists decades ago.&nbsp;

The multiplex located in Srinagar's Shivpora area will have three screens and a total seating capacity of approximately 520 people. The building is built as any multiplex but with a touch of Kashmir in it. The owners have incorporated Kashmiri traditional 'Khatamband' ceiling and paper mache designs. Reportedly, the multiplex will be thrown open for the public in September.&nbsp;

Kashmir had dozens of cinema halls till early 1990, but with the advent of terrorism, all cinema halls in the valley were shut down. The government during 1999-2000&nbsp;tried to re-open a few cinema halls but subsequent terrorist attacks forced them to close the cinema halls.&nbsp;

The Dhar family owned one of the oldest cinema halls in the valley called 'Broadway'. It was also opened for a brief period and later shut forever. Security is one of the main concerns for these cinema halls. However, the owners of the multiplex stated that they have no apprehensions as they are doing this for the entertainment of the youth.&nbsp;

With the news spreading about the opening of the first multiplex in Srinagar city, the owners are getting calls from people across the valley asking about how to open a theatre/cinema in their areas.&nbsp;

''A lot of people are asking us about the process of starting cinemas across the valley again. I have received a lot of cooperation from the government as well.'' said Vikas.&nbsp;

After thirty long years, cinema is returning to Kashmir valley. The first multiplex is opening in Srinagar City to provide entertainment to the youth of Kashmir.

After thirty long years, cinema is returning to Kashmir valley. The first multiplex is opening in Srinagar City to provide entertainment to the youth of Kashmir. Cinema halls in the valley were closed in the early 90s after terrorism found its roots in the region. Kashmir had around 15 cinema halls at the time but all of them were forced closed by terrorists decades ago. The multiplex located in Srinagar's Shivpora area will have three screens and a total seating capacity of approximately 520 people. The building is built as any multiplex but with a touch of Kashmir in it. The owners have incorporated Kashmiri traditional 'Khatamband' ceiling and paper mache designs. Reportedly, the multiplex will be thrown open for the public in September. ''The idea came from my parents and as a family, we decided it together. Our family sat together, and we thought that no one is talking about the entertainment option for the youth, we started slowly sifting through all the ideas and business prospects, and we decided that cinema is something that has a long relation with Kashmir and it's something we should be bringing to the valley. It took us about three to four years, from the planning stage to reaching here. The auditorium will have three screens with 520 seats." said Vikas Dhar, owner of the multiplex. The government during 1999-2000 tried to re-open a few cinema halls but subsequent terrorist attacks forced them to close the cinema halls. The Dhar family owned one of the oldest cinema halls in the valley called 'Broadway'. It was also opened for a brief period and later shut forever. Security is one of the main concerns for these cinema halls. However, the owners of the multiplex stated that they have no apprehensions as they are doing this for the entertainment of the youth. ''This entire work has not been taken with the intention of business ideology; we haven't used our brains at all. It comes from the heart, so the heart does not have any apprehensions. I am sure 100 per cent. The relationship between the Indian film industry and Kashmir has a great history. The Indian film industry has given due credit to the valley and its people. And I think that relationship needs to be reconnected and it's a small step and very soon we will see more people coming here making films and lots of Kashmiris are making great films in the valley," added Vikas. People's Alliance of Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) chairman Farooq Abdullah had convened an all-party meet at his Srinagar residence. The meeting was called after the Election Commission announced the inclusion of outsiders living in Jammu and Kashmir to have voting rights. For the first time ever, national political party Shiv Sena was present during the meet as well.&nbsp;

Around seven national and regional parties including National Conference, Congress, PDP, CPI, CPI(M), ANC and Shiv Sena leaders were present in the meeting. Farooq Abdullah said '' We had called for today’s meeting as the announcement was made by the Election Commision about inclusion of outsiders in the voting list. The identity of Kashmiris, Dogras, Sikhs etc is under attack and if this decision is taken it will make sure that outsiders control the assembly in Jammu and Kashmir, and We don’t accept this decision at all".

Farooq Abdullah said that India took two hundred years to get freedom from the British and in the same manner we will fight till the end. Whether we are alive or not the people will fight for their rights. He also said that by bringing in these laws, the people who are outsiders here and have come for work to Jammu and Kashmir are being made soft targets.&nbsp;

Mehbooba Mufti had called Farooq Abdullah after the announcement made by the Election Commision and asked him to convene an All-Party Meet. The same meeting will be held later in the Jammu region as well.&nbsp;

In the meeting it was also decided that a meeting will be called of all National Political Parties as well. These National parties would be apprised of the situation in the Union Territory as well as the issues prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir. ''We are calling leaders of National political parties to discuss the issues that are there in Jammu and Kashmir. &nbsp;We had called for a conference in 1983 and Advani Ji from BJP had attended that too. We had put forth our points and issues in front of them. We will not give up and we will fight. We are doing this for the people of Jammu and Kashmir,'' said Farooq Abdullah, NC.&nbsp;

Shiv Sena Leader who attended the meeting for the first time said that It is an issue of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and not any political problem and if situation demands Shiv Sena will hold protests across India. '' This is an issue of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and not any political problem, if the situation demands Shiv Sena will start protests all across the country against the centre's decision through which they want to snatch the rights of Jammu and Kashmir. The prepaid phones from across the country don't work here but people from outside will be given voting rights. '' said Shiv Sena leader Manish Sahni.&nbsp;

The PAGD also said they are thinking of going to court as well.
