The allegation by Ukrainian forces also comes amid media reports that Russia has been receiving Starlink internet terminals via an intermediary in the Middle East amid the ongoing war.&nbsp;

<h2>‘Systemic nature’</h2>

“Cases of the Russian occupiers’ use of the given devices have been registered. It is beginning to take on a systemic nature,” the Ukrainian defence ministry’s Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) quoted spokesman Andriy Yusov as saying.&nbsp;

In its post on Telegram, GUR also posted an audio clip of what it said was an exchange between two Russian soldiers that was intercepted by its forces, claiming it as proof of Starlink’s “systemic” use in the Russian-occupied territory.&nbsp;

The Ukrainian intelligence agency said Starlink terminals are being used by Russia’s 83rd Air Assault Brigade, which is fighting near the embattled towns of Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the partially occupied eastern region of Donetsk.&nbsp;

Following media reports last week, Musk’s aerospace company, SpaceX, has said that it does not do any business with Russia’s government or military.

<h2>How is Russia accessing Starlink?</h2>

Starlink is the world’s first and largest satellite constellation which involves more than 2,000 satellites orbiting the Earth in communication with thousands of terminals on the ground to deliver broadband internet.&nbsp;

The audio clip which GUR posted on Telegram as evidence is said to be an exchange between two Russian soldiers discussing setting up the Starlink terminals. However, the Ukrainian agency did not say how Moscow’s forces were able to procure the terminals or if they were from another country or taken from Kyiv’s forces.

A report by Newsweek, an American weekly news magazine, citing a Ukrainian journalist and soldier said Russia’s military began delivering Starlink terminals en masse in occupied territories, referring to four regions of Ukraine that were illegally annexed by Russia in 2022 – Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.&nbsp;

<h2>SpaceX responds to reports</h2>

In response to the media reports last week, Starlink, in a statement on X said, “Starlink is not active in Russia, meaning service will not work in that country. SpaceX has never sold or marketed Starlink in Russia, nor has it shipped equipment to locations in Russia.”

“If SpaceX obtains knowledge that a Starlink terminal is being used by a sanctioned or unauthorized party, we investigate the claim and take actions to deactivate the terminal if confirmed,” it added.&nbsp;

Russian envoy to India, Denis Alipov on Saturday (Feb 10) stated that the United States was making attempts to threaten Moscow's relationship with New Delhi via sanctions even though his country continues to be India's "reliable and time-tested friend".

"In India, Russia enjoys a solid reputation as a reliable, sincere, well-intentioned, time-tested friend. Such an image was initially shaped due to the major contribution of the USSR to Indian socio-economic development, and it largely persists to this day," Alipov said during an interview with news agency RT.

"US officials who come here do not hesitate to directly state that they are pursuing the goal of tearing New Delhi away from Moscow. They are even making threats with secondary sanctions. Some Indian partners are forced to exercise caution, sometimes, frankly speaking, excessively, but there are also a significant number of those for whom such an approach is unacceptable." he added.

The Russian envoy, stressing upon the strong bilateral relationship, stated that the New Delhi-Moscow ties, unlike the Western allies, have never "conditioned cooperation on politics" nor did the two sides ever meddle in each other's domestic affairs.

"Our ties continue to steadily expand in a wide range of areas according to our converging national interests. But unlike our Western partners, we have never conditioned cooperation on politics, have not interfered in domestic affairs, and have always maintained mutually respectful and trusted relationships. Therefore, even now we mainly see a growing desire to keep working together and finding ways to overcome well-known impediments caused by destructive unilateral approaches," said&nbsp;Alipov.

"It should be noted that over the recent years, the number of such contacts has increased manifold, and they are becoming more and more meaningful, including distributing information detailing the economic and investment potential and promising areas for interaction. It is indicative that the current bilateral trade turnover, which at the end of 2023 may exceed $60 billion, is several times higher than the pre-sanctions figures," he added.

Alipov also urged for immediate reforms of the United Nations and its agencies whilst making a strong case for India's inclusion as a permanent member of the UN Security Council.

"We are of the view that India as a permanent member of the Security Council could make a significant contribution to promoting balance as well as an agenda focused on the interests of the world majority, primarily the countries of the Global South," the Russian envoy said.

Russia and India have had a strong strategic alliance based on similar interests and historical ties for decades now.

As per the Russian news agency, large-scale defense cooperation lies at the heart of the alliance with both countries participating in cooperative military exercises, co-development of cutting-edge military platforms, and technology transfers.&nbsp;

An infant in the US state of Missouri died on Friday (Feb 9) after her mother mistakenly put her inside an oven for a nap, according to a report by news agency Associated Press.&nbsp;

The accused mother, identified as Mariah Thomas of Kansas City faces "Class A felony of endangering the welfare of a child in the 1st degree, death of a child", a prosecutor informed on Saturday (Feb 10).&nbsp;

The incident took place on Friday afternoon when police officers responded to a report of a month-old child not breathing at a house near 41st Street and Forest Avenue. The first responders, upon reaching the scene, declared the baby&nbsp;dead.&nbsp;

However, detectives said the circumstances around the child’s death were suspicious enough to cause concern and they initiated an investigation.

The first responders had noticed burns on the child and upon pressing Thomas, she said she was putting the child down for a nap but accidentally put her in the oven, instead of the crib.&nbsp;

The statement did not offer an explanation about how that mistake was made. It remains unclear at this stage whether Thomas has an attorney or not.&nbsp;

Hamas warned on Sunday (Feb 11) that any Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip's Rafah would "blow up" the hostage exchange negotiations. Speaking to the al-Aqsa channel, a senior Hamas leader said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was trying to avoid the price of the prisoner exchange by continuing the mass extermination and humanitarian catastrophe in Rafah.

Hamas warned on Sunday (Feb 11) that any Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip's Rafah would "blow up" the hostage exchange negotiations. Speaking to the al-Aqsa channel, a senior Hamas leader said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was trying to avoid the price of the prisoner exchange by continuing the mass extermination and humanitarian catastrophe in Rafah. "What Netanyahu and the Israeli army failed to do in four months, he won't be able to achieve it even if the war drags on," the leader added. The war between Israel and Hamas started on Oct 7 last year when Hamas militants stormed border defences to attack Israeli towns, killing around 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and taking around 250 hostages back to Gaza. Israel responded with a massive offensive in the Gaza Strip, killing over 28,000 people as per Hamas' claims. Earlier, Netanyahu's office said that it had ordered the military to develop a plan to evacuate Rafah and destroy four Hamas battalions it says are deployed there, the news agency Reuters reported. Netanyahu promises safe passage ahead of offensive PM Netanyahu promised "safe passage" to civilians displaced in Rafah before the Israeli military carried out its offensive. "We're going to do it while providing safe passage for the civilian population so they can leave," he told ABC News on Sunday. Apart from the offensive possibly blowing up the hostage exchange negotiations, Hamas also warned full-scale Israeli invasion of Rafah could cause tens of thousands of casualties. The Philippine Coast Guard has accused Chinese vessels of engaging in "dangerous" manoeuvres on Sunday (Feb 11) while on a nine-day patrol close to a reef off the coast of Southeast Asia.&nbsp;

The Philippine vessel BRP Teresa Magbanua was sent out early in the month of February to patrol waters surrounding Scarborough Shoal, which is a productive fishing area in the South China Sea, and also ensure the safety of Filipino fishermen.

China took the reef from the Philippines in the year 2012, and since then, it has been a flashpoint between both countries.

The Philippine Coast Guard released a statement saying that the Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) vessels, during the patrol, "performed dangerous and blocking manoeuvres at sea against BRP Teresa Magbanua four times, with the CCG vessels crossing the bow of the PCG vessel twice".

The Philippine Coast Guard stated that its ship was also "shadowed" by four Chinese Coast Guard vessels "on more than 40 occasions".

The Coast Guard also observed what it called "four Chinese Maritime Militia vessels".

Videos that were released by the Philippine Coast Guard showed a Chinese Coast Guard vessel metres from the port beam of the BRP Teresa Magbanua before it crossed the path of the Filipino boat.

"Nevertheless, the PCG vessel professionally engaged both the CCG and CMM vessels through radio reiterating the clear and principled position of the Philippines in accordance with international law," the statement said.

Commenting on the accusations from the Philippines, the Chinese foreign ministry said that the Scarborough Shoal was their country's sovereign territory and that the Chinese coastguard activities were legal in that particular area.

"China requires the Philippines to respect China's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests and stop maritime infringement activities. China will continue to firmly safeguard its territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests in accordance with the law," the ministry said as per news agency Reuters.

The incidents occurred two months following severe standoffs between China and the Philippines over disputed reefs in the South China Sea, during which Chinese ships fired water cannons at Philippine boats, leading to a collision between their vessels.

A grand jury returned a nine-count indictment against&nbsp;Deobra Delone Redden whose actions were captured in a courtroom video that went viral on social media platforms. The indictment alleged that he attempted to murder Holthus by "grabbing her, pulling her hair,&nbsp;placing his hands around her throat and/or hitting her on the head by manner and means unknown".&nbsp;

Apart from attacking the judge, Redden has also been accused of&nbsp;“punching and/or kicking and/or pushing” a Las Vegas police officer.&nbsp;

In the video that went viral, Redden could be seen repeatedly punching the judge as the marshal and other security officials attempted to subdue him. Holthus could also be heard begging Redden to get off.&nbsp;

For the next minute-and-a-half, Redden and the security official continued to jostle as the criminal assaulted the judge. It took more than a couple of security guards to submit Redden who was then put in handcuffs and escorted off the scene.&nbsp;

“I'm not a rebellious person. But if it's appropriate for you then you have to do what you have to do," he told the judge.&nbsp;

However, after Judge Holthus made it clear that she was sending him behind bars, Redden lost it and in a fit of rage did what was caught on camera. Notably, Redden was not in custody when he arrived at the court, wearing a white shirt and dark pants, standing next to his defence attorney Caesar Almase.&nbsp;

Notably, Redden&nbsp;has a comprehensive rap sheet, both in Nevada and Texas. He has faced charges ranging from battery, robbery, assault, injury to property and coercion. He previously served prison time in Nevada on a domestic battery conviction.&nbsp;
