A missile on Monday (Feb 12) reportedly hit a vessel off Yemen's southern coast at the time the ship was transiting the strategic Bab al-Mandeb strait, said&nbsp;security agencies.

The incident took place before 0400 local time (0100 GMT) in the area where Yemen's Houthi rebel group, in recent months, has launched repeated attacks targeting Red Sea shipping, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) agency said in its report.

"The crew are reported safe and the vessel is proceeding to the next port of call," UKMTO said.&nbsp;

Another security organisation, Ambrey, said that the Marshall Islands-flagged, Greece-owned bulk carrier "was targeted by missiles in two separate incidents" within 20 minutes and "was reportedly hit and sustained physical damage on the starboard side".&nbsp;

According to Ambrey, the vessel had a private armed security team on board.

The Iran-backed Houthis have been launching targetted missile strikes at the Red Sea shipping vessels for months which the group says are in solidarity with Palestinians and Gaza amid the Israel-Hamas war.

The owner of the group and operator of the bulk carrier, that was targeted on Monday (Feb 12), regularly trades cargo with Iran, "so this was assessed to be the likely destination", said Ambrey.

"The group owner of the bulker was also listed on the US stock market index NASDAQ, which was identified as the likely reason for the attack," it said.&nbsp;

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is said to be behind the recruitment process. The modus operandi involves the IRGC recruiters approaching&nbsp;Shiite Muslims visiting religious sites in the Middle East and asking them to gather classified or useful information about prominent Jews, synagogues and&nbsp;Iranian dissidents.

The publication claimed that British Muslims, who visited&nbsp;the holy Iraqi city of Kerbala in September last year were approached to spy for Iran.&nbsp;

“We do not know the scale of Iranian agents inside Europe and the UK, but all it takes is for one to slip through the net," an unnamed source was quoted as saying.

The report added that some Iranians who come to study at British universities as international students on state scholarships also act as spies.&nbsp;

Quoting a British official, the report claimed that the Iranian regime also utilised British-based organised crime networks to carry out attacks on US soil.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The campaign group behind throwing soup on the Mona Lisa painting in Lovre Museum in France has repeated the act with a Monet painting&nbsp;in a Lyon museum.

The Musee des Beaux-Arts has said that soup was thrown on Claude Monet's "Le Printemps" (Spring) at 3:30 pm (local time) on Saturday (Feb 10).

The masterpiece, created in 1872 was behind a protective glass but the museum said that there will be close inspection and restoration of the painting. The museum also said that it would file a complaint.

According to&nbsp;AFP,&nbsp;two activists of the group behind the act have been arrested.

The group, Riposte Alimentaire or Food counterattack, accepted responsibility for the attack in a post made on social media platform X (Twitter).

In the post a 20-year-old woman named Ilona said, "we have to act now before its too late"

But 'duo&nbsp;euthanasia' has again come into renewed focus after former Dutch PM Dries van Agt (93) died&nbsp;by euthanasia, “hand in hand” with his&nbsp;wife Eugenie (93).&nbsp;

According to The Guardian, 26 people were granted euthanasia at the same time as their partners in 2020. In 2021, the number increased to 32 and in 2022 the number of couples who opted for&nbsp;duo euthanasia rose to 58.

Former Dutch PM Dries van Agt and his wife were married for 70 years.

Last week, The Rights Forum, a group Van Agt set up to support the Palestinian cause announced the couple's death. The group said that the couple died "together and hand in hand".

Both of them were reportedly very ill. Van Agt suffered brain hemorrhage in the year 2019. He never quite recovered.

“Interest in this is growing, but it is still rare,” said Elke Swart, spokesperson for the Expertisecentrum Euthanasie which clears euthanasia wish of people in the Netherlands. About 1000 people are granted euthanasia every year.

“It is pure chance that two people are suffering unbearably with no prospect of relief at the same time … and that they both wish for euthanasia,” she said, as quoted by The Guardian.

The six conditions in case of which euthanasia is granted in the Netherlands include unbearable suffering with no prospect of relief and also an independent, long held wish for death.

Couples choosing the duo euthansia need to go through strict tests individually as&nbsp;they are not considered together while granting of euthanasia.

Duo euthanasia still represents small percentage. In the year 2022, it was 5.1 per cent of deaths in the country but many people reportedly express the wish.

"UNRWA ... does not have the military and security expertise nor the capacity to undertake military inspections of what is or might be under its premises," said the lieutenant-colonel.

"In the past, whenever (a) suspicious cavity was found close to or under UNRWA premises, protest letters were promptly filed to parties to the conflict, including both the de facto authorities in Gaza (Hamas) and the Israeli authorities," he added.

Speaking further he said, the underground facility played a key role in directing combat activities.&nbsp;

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, director general of the World Trade Organization, in a post on social media platform X, confirmed that the incident had claimed the life of Access Bank Group CEO Herbert Wigwe, along with that of Nigerian Exchange Group's former Chairman Abimbola Ogunbanjo.

"Terribly saddened by the news of the terrible loss of Herbert Wigwe, Group CEO Access Bank, his wife and son as well as Bimbo Ogunbanjo in a helicopter crash," Okonjo-Iweala said on X.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement that the site of the helicopter crash was determined to be east of the 15-Freeway, near Halloran Springs Road.

The number of people killed by a landslide in the southern Philippines has risen to 37, an official said on Sunday, as rescue workers continued to dig through mud even as hope of finding more survivors dimmed.

The landslide struck on Tuesday night outside a gold mine in Maco town in the province of Davao de Oro, burying homes and vehicles ferrying employees to the site operated by Apex Mining.

Edward Macapili, an official of Davao de Oro province, said 37 people had died from the landslide, in the latest update after two more bodies were found on Sunday.

However, the tally of missing people was revised down to 63 from 77, while there were 32 injured. Officials did not immediately cite a reason for the revision.

Macapili said over 300 people were involved in the rescue, but operations were being hampered by heavy rain, thick mud and the threat of further landslides. Rescue work resumed on Sunday morning, Macapili said.

Asked if there were still survivors, Macapili said it was already "unlikely", but the search would continue.

"The rescue team is doing its best, even if it's very difficult," Macapili said by phone.
