<p>"Everyone is suffering from this conflict. I don't know exactly how it will end, we're not deep enough into the process to know," said the Indian foreign minister.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Isn't that why you could be a mediator?," the interviewer asked Jaishankar.</p>

<p>"Theoretically, yes," Jaishankar said, adding that New Delhi has already helped with very specific issues.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Wherever we can help, we are happy to do so. We are open when we are approached. However, we do not believe that we should initiate anything in this direction on our own," added Jaishankar.</p>

<p>Asked if India would have liked support from Europe in conflict with China in 2020, Jaishankar said that just like India does not expect Europe to have a view of China that is identical to India's, Europe should understand that India cannot have a view of Russia that is identical to the European one. "Let us accept that there are natural differences in relationships."</p>

<p>The US on November 29, 1947, voted to partition British Mandatory Palestine into separate Jewish and Arab states, but the move was rejected by the Arab states. Their conflict led to a war with Israel after its creation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During the eight-month-long war, Israel expanded its territory allotted to it by the UN as more than 760,000 Palestinians fled. Jordan occupied the West Bank including east Jerusalem, while Egypt took the coastal Gaza Strip.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Israel captured the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem in a war in 1967 and has since built settlements in the West Bank and steadily expanded them. But the Palestinians want both regions for a state.&nbsp;</p>

The war started after Hamas militants launched unprecedented attacks in Israel on October 7, which led to retaliatory action by the Israeli government.&nbsp;</p>

<p>So far in the past, Israel has ignored legal opinions and it claims that it faces an existential threat by Hamas militants and other groups and is acting in self-defence.&nbsp;</p>

<p>But one must also consider the fact that the ICJ's judgements are binding although it has little means to enforce them. However, in this case, the opinion it issues will be non-binding although most advisory opinions are acted upon.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A number of European countries on Monday (Feb 19) summoned Russian diplomats over the rather suspicious death of opposition leader Alexei Navalny last week, whilst also warning of fresh sanctions.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>France led the chart by summoning the Russian ambassador to Paris, confirmed foreign minister Stephane Sejourne who is currently on a diplomatic trip to Argentina.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I have asked for the convocation of the Russian ambassador today," he informed during a press conference, adding that&nbsp;"the regime of Vladimir Putin has once again shown its true nature".&nbsp;</p>

<p>Norway's foreign ministry also released a statement saying it had done the same.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has today summoned the Russian ambassador for a talk about the death of Alexei Navalny. In the conversation, Norwegian views will be conveyed about Russian authorities' responsibility for the death and for facilitating a transparent investigation," the ministry said in a statement.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Finland, Lithuania, Spain Sweden and the Netherlands are the others to have summoned&nbsp;diplomats from Russian embassies. London had done the same Friday (Feb 16) evening.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Germany said it was proposing fresh sanctions against Moscow as President Vladimir Putin had once again used his powers to cull freedom in the country.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The jailed Russian activist was referring to the time when&nbsp;Navalny was allegedly poisoned by a&nbsp;nerve agent in 2020.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Russian president has no “no moral or legal limitations” and each of their lives is in danger, he added. “I understand that. However, it doesn’t change anything for me. I find it to be beneath my dignity to be scared of a thug,” said Yashin.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The UK's air travel watchdog has put forth a proposal that, if passed, can see legal use of drones for delivery of critical medicines and for inspection of railways, roads and power lines. If passed, the proposal from UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) would allow flying of drones beyond line of sight. There are currently strict restrictions on operation of drones in such a manner.</p>

<p>The new proposal proposes that drones be allowed to fly at low heights away from the altitude required by the air traffic.</p>

<p>"Our proposals are a positive step towards unlocking the next stage for drone flying in the UK. Allowing drones to fly beyond the sight of the remote pilot, without placing restrictions on other aircraft in the area, will be a major achievement for UK drone operations," said Kevin Woolsey, the head of remotely piloted aircraft systems at the CAA.</p>

<p>“Safety comes first in everything we do and so we have identified sensible mitigations on where drones can fly using this proposed concept to make sure we maintain levels of safety.”</p>
