US President Donald Trump has once again turned his attention to Senator Jon Husted's physique, this time in a TikTok video recorded in the Oval Office, where he repeated his admiration for the Ohio Republican's rear end. "I told the people; they didn't know this, he has a great ass," Trump said in the clip, which was posted on Wednesday (Oct 28) and is now going viral on social. "Very powerful ass. His shoulders, his hands, his arms," said the POTUS in the video, which has already racked up over 1.3 million views from one X post.Trump, in a bizarre claim, also said that his announcement that Husted has "a great ass, very powerful ass" caused him to jump 12 points in the "ratings".The US President has been caught gushing about Husted's derriere multiple times since he brought it up at a rally earlier this month, describing his physique in striking detail. "His ass, shit, it's like, it's like a pile of muscle," Trump said and has been mentioning it ever since.

Sherrod Brown, a Democrat. Brown has a slight edge in the latest polls, and none show the sudden, dramatic swing the president suggests. According to a Newsweek report citing a survey of 500 likely voters, Brown has a 3-point lead over Husted, 47 per cent to 44 per cent.Trump has been rallying support for Husted ahead of the midterms. On October 12 (Monday) in Youngstown, Ohio, former Super Bowl-winning coach Jon Gruden introduced the president and noted that he and Husted had been college teammates."I'm standing over here, and I don't do this with men very often. I started examining [Husted's] body because I didn't know he was a great athlete, and I looked, and I watched up and down," Trump said on Monday night. "I looked at his a**, and I looked at the whole, and then I looked at his hands. Look at his hands. He's got these like claws," he added.Husted was an All-American defensive back at the University of Dayton, where he earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees; he and Gruden played together on the Dayton Flyers in 1985."I said, 'John, what are you doing here?' I thought he was going to say, 'I'm here for you, sir. I have such respect for you.' But he didn't say that. He said, 'I'm here for my teammate.' I said, 'Who's your teammate?' Trump also keeps trashing Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R), his hand-picked Senate candidate. "I'm not sure if I like your look, I'm not sure if I like the way you dress, I don't like the way you talk," Trump recalled telling him, but he has consistently praised him for his loyalty. As the campaign has worn on, Trump has peppered his freewheeling rallies with ever more polarising and violent language. He has branded Abdul El-Sayed, the Muslim, left-wing Democratic Senate candidate in Michigan, a "jihadist", used anti-trans slurs against another Democrat, called Democrats communists; and stepped up his tirade against the media.

Two Chinese men who admitted trying to recruit US military service members to spy for Beijing were imprisoned in California on Friday (Oct 30). The men, identified as Liren Lai and Yuance Chen, have been ordered to serve 30 months in a federal lockup and to undergo three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to acting on the orders of China's Ministry of State Security. The US Department of Justice said the men had carried out clandestine intelligence activities in the United States that included facilitating "dead drop" cash payments in exchange for information related to the national security of the United States. They also gathered information about US military personnel and installations and tried to recruit intelligence assets from within the US military. “These defendants were directed by a foreign intelligence service to gather information about the U.S. military in the hopes of undermining our national security,” said US Attorney Craig H. Missakian for the Northern District of California. How the scheme worked: Revealed Lai, who arrived in the US on a tourist visa, recruited Chen, a permanent resident, into the scheme and initially served as an intermediary between Chen and intelligence officers until Chen was able to receive his orders directly from his handler. The DoJ said the two men had been working since at least May 2021 for the branch of the Chinese government responsible for conducting foreign intelligence and counterintelligence operations. What appeared to be a reconciliation between feuding Michigan Democrats on Thursday night quickly unravelled by Friday morning, as Representative Haley Stevens renewed her criticism of Democratic Senate nominee Dr. Abdul El-Sayed. Stevens had announced that she would campaign alongside El-Sayed over the weekend, seemingly putting aside the public disagreements that followed their bitter primary contest. However, less than a day later, she issued another statement outlining several demands ahead of their planned joint appearance. Stevens said she expected El-Sayed to apologize for his remarks about Israel and disavow an advertisement from an outside group that she characterized as antisemitic. She also urged him to remove a campaign advertisement featuring conservative commentator Tucker Carlson. “Abdul promises to get money out of politics,” Stevens said in the statement. “He can begin by getting Israel out of his explanation for everything Michigan cannot afford.” The latest disagreement has added to an increasingly complicated relationship between El-Sayed and Stevens, drawing in several prominent Democrats, including Representatives Debbie Dingell of Michigan and James E. Clyburn of South Carolina, one of the most influential African American members of Congress. The dispute has created further uncertainty during the final week of a Senate race that could influence control of the chamber, prompting concerns among Democrats that internal divisions could hurt the party as Election Day approaches. Stevens, a centrist who lost to El-Sayed by less than one percentage point in the contentious August primary, has not appeared publicly alongside him during the final stretch of the campaign, despite pledging during the summer to support his candidacy. Cenk Uygur, founder of Rebellion PAC, disputed Stevens’s interpretation of the advertisement, arguing that it targeted the Israeli government rather than Jewish Americans. However, Uygur said he would have no objection if El-Sayed publicly rejected the commercial. “He’s running a campaign,” Uygur said. “I’m running a PAC. He can say whatever he wants. I’m OK with it. Following his primary victory, El-Sayed received Stevens's endorsement, and the two appeared together at a unity breakfast. At the time, Stevens said the party had a ‘good ticket going’ and was united. However, her fiancé, Jason Turkish, said on Wednesday that he continued to be disappointed that El-Sayed had not appeared alongside Stevens at a news conference the day after the primary. US President Donald Trump and Argentine President Javier Milei came under growing pressure on Friday to clarify their countries' involvement in helping Brazilian senator Flavio Bolsonaro leave Brazil after authorities cancelled his passports. The 45-year-old senator fled Brazil two days after losing Sunday's presidential election to incumbent Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. Bolsonaro had been instructed to surrender all his passports amid an ongoing investigation into suspected money-laundering. However, he managed to leave the country through a covert operation involving Argentina and Ecuador before arriving in Florida on Wednesday, where he declared himself the rightful ‘leader’ of Brazil. Bolsonaro refused to accept defeat after the election, a result that came as a surprise after he had won the first round and was considered a narrow favourite. According to Argentina's migration authority, Bolsonaro boarded a private aircraft on Tuesday evening in the northeastern city of Puerto Iguazu, around 40 minutes after entering Argentina by land. Although his Brazilian and diplomatic passports had been cancelled, Bolsonaro also holds an Italian passport, which he reportedly used to board the private jet in Argentina, according to a flight document reviewed by AFP. A Brazilian diplomatic source, speaking anonymously, told AFP that Argentina's diplomatic representative had been called to a ‘routine meeting’ on Thursday to provide explanations about the incident. Brazil had recalled its ambassador and downgraded diplomatic relations with Buenos Aires in August following repeated insults from Milei, who had described Lula as a thief and corrupt. However, Argentina's Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno denied on Friday that Brazil had requested an explanation from Buenos Aires regarding Bolsonaro's departure. "FALSE.
Outliers in not accepting result
In his first statement after leaving Brazil, Bolsonaro thanked Milei and Trump for their support. Milei has refused to recognise Lula's election victory, while Trump described the election as a ‘disgrace’ and ‘very strange’. However, Lula's victory has been recognised by world leaders across the political spectrum, Brazil's electoral court, Bolsonaro's own party, which holds a majority in Congress, and other right-wing allies. In the United States, Democratic lawmakers sent a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio requesting an immediate accounting of the State Department's role in facilitating Bolsonaro's departure from Brazil. Luis Grande, head of Baires Fly, the airline that transported Bolsonaro, told AFP on Thursday that he had been hired by a broker who lives in the United States. Several US media outlets, including The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, have reported that the private aircraft was chartered by Jason Miller, an adviser to Trump. The White House has not issued any comment on the matter.
Difficult times for the Bolsonaro movement
Bolsonaro, the son of former far-right leader Jair Bolsonaro, has faced isolation and ridicule in Brazil following his departure and declaration that he intends to lead the opposition from abroad. Attention has quickly shifted to who will take charge of the political right in Flavio's absence and what lies ahead for the Bolsonaro movement. Jair Bolsonaro, 71, is currently serving a 27-year sentence under house arrest for plotting a coup against Lula following his 2022 election defeat. His wife, Michelle Bolsonaro, who was recently elected senator, issued a statement on Instagram on Friday referring to Jair Bolsonaro as ‘our leader’. "We are living through difficult times. We need to reflect and only then act," she wrote. "My husband stresses that this is a time for unity, not for looking for people to blame," she said.

Federal officials investigating allegations that Democrats recruited a man sharing the same name as Alaska's Republican Senate candidate to confuse voters ahead of the US midterm elections have announced a major deployment of law enforcement resources to the state. The investigation follows Trump's description of the alleged scheme as a "fraud" and his demand that Peltola be prosecuted. The Trump-appointed US attorney for Alaska, Michael J. Also Read: Poland in political turmoil as Karol Nawrocki returns mid-flight amid Constitutional Court 'coup d'etat' claims. What's happening? Among those allegedly recruited was a candidate named Dan Sullivan, sharing the name of Republican incumbent Senator Dan Sullivan. “This new information has resulted in a significant surge of law enforcement assets to Alaska, and I have assigned several attorneys in my office to assist in the matter as well.” Heyman repeatedly declined to identify the specific crime that may have been committed or the legal provisions under which the investigation was initiated. The investigation follows Trump's description of the alleged scheme as a "fraud" and his demand that Peltola be prosecuted. The Trump-appointed US attorney for Alaska, Michael J. Heyman, also indicated that criminal charges might never be filed as part of the investigation into the alleged coordinated Democratic effort to field a decoy candidate. The alleged objective was to divide the vote for Republican incumbent Senator Dan Sullivan. During a hastily arranged news conference at his office, Heyman addressed questions about the possibility of criminal charges. “You’re assuming that crime was committed,” he told a reporter who asked him about potential charges. “We investigate whether a crime has been committed under several theories.” He also said that placing a candidate with the same name as another candidate on Alaska's ballot does not violate state law.

Polish President Karol Nawrocki abruptly cancelled his visit to Africa while in mid-flight and returned to Warsaw on Friday as riot police were deployed around the country's Constitutional Court. The court's official account on X described the development as a 'coup d'etat', while some demonstrators chanted ‘Tusk traitor’ as they criticised Prime Minister Donald Tusk's government. Several protesters held Roman Catholic rosaries and religious images while saying prayers. Police confirmed that three people had been arrested after attempting to enter the court complex. Tusk's government has been attempting for weeks to remove judges from the Constitutional Court who were appointed by the previous PiS administration, which governed Poland from 2015 to 2023.
Nawrocki returns amid political turmoil
Tusk promised to resolve Poland's dispute with Brussels after winning the 2023 election. However, the country's president, an independent politician aligned with the right wing, has blocked his appointments to the court. Former PiS prime minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski addressed the demonstrators and urged Nawrocki to take action. The president announced that he had cancelled his official visit to Senegal while already in the air and ordered his aircraft to return to Warsaw. According to media reports, he was expected to travel directly from the airport to the Constitutional Court. The suspension of Swieczkowski was announced by another judge, Anna Korwin-Piotrowska, who said the decision was necessary to restore the rule of law. Justice Minister Waldemar Zurek, who also serves as attorney general, told journalists that he had requested the removal of the legal immunity of Swieczkowski and his deputy, Bartlomiej Sochanski. "This court has become private property; we must restore its proper functioning," he added. Tusk defended the government's actions in a post on X."Restoring the rule of law is our duty," he said. “After years of PiS-led lawlessness, this is a difficult process, sometimes painful, and it requires decisive action. There is no other way.”

Conflict over Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal escalates in Warsaw: judge suspends its leadership and president cuts short Africa trip

A de facto power struggle has erupted within one of Poland’s most important state institutions in Warsaw today. For now, the outcome of this confrontation remains uncertain.

Judge Anna Korwin-Piotrowska called the police to the grounds of the Constitutional Tribunal, citing a potential threat to the safety of judges and staff.

Police did not enter the building, but a significant number of officers have been deployed in the surrounding area.

Korwin-Piotrowska suspended Tribunal President Bogdan Święczkowski and his deputy, Bartłomiej Sochański, for one month, temporarily taking charge of the institution herself.

Jarosław Kaczyński, leader of the opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party, called the developments a “coup” and urged Polish President Karol Nawrocki to intervene.

Nawrocki has cut short his visit to Senegal and is returning to Poland.

The conflict stems from a deep division over the composition of the court. Donald Tusk’s government refuses to recognise the Tribunal’s rulings because of judges appointed under the previous PiS government.

Meanwhile, Nawrocki and Święczkowski refuse to recognise judges elected by the Sejm in 2026.

Korwin-Piotrowska is among them: the president refused to accept her oath of office, while Święczkowski had previously prevented her from participating in court proceedings.— NEXTA (@nexta_tv) October 30, 2026

Constitutional Court rejects suspension
The Constitutional Court's official website was inaccessible on Friday evening. Meanwhile, its official X account maintained that a 'coup d'etat' had taken place and insisted that Swieczkowski remained in office. The account also stated that Korwin-Piotrowska could not assume the role of interim chief justice because she had not been sworn in by the president. Amid the uncertainty surrounding the court's leadership, Korwin-Piotrowska defended the importance of the institution. "In modern Europe, a democratic state cannot function without a constitutional court (...) that acts as a guarantor of citizens' rights and freedoms."

As polls closed in Brazil last week, online bettors appeared confident that Flavio Bolsonaro would become the country's next president, putting his chances of winning at around 80 per cent. However, their prediction proved wrong. As the ballots were counted, it became increasingly clear that Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva would emerge victorious. The odds quickly changed as traders rushed to place new bets on the eventual winner. This year, prediction markets are facing an unprecedented test of their influence and accuracy. The current polling picture is notable because Collins also trailed in every poll published during the final four months of her 2020 re-election campaign. The result reflected a broader polling error that underestimated Republican support that year.
