Israeli hostage calls for pressure on Netanyahu government in video shared by Hamas ally

Islamic Jihad militant group released a video of Israeli hostage Sasha Trufanov on Wednesday (Nov 13), marking the third video released by the Palestinian militants.
In the video, Trufanov was seen speaking about Israeli military operations in Lebanon. He also said that he and the other hostages were running out of food and hygiene products.
The hostage also called on Israelis to increase pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government to secure the release of hostages.
In the shared video, Trufanov said that he is 28 years old, however, the video was released two days after he turned 29.
Trufanov is an engineer employed at Annapurna Labs, an Israeli microelectronics company owned by Amazon.

Earlier also, the Palestinian militant groups shared similar videos of hostages, which have been labelled as deplorable psychological violence by Israel.
Trufanov was taken hostage along with three other members of his family, including his grandmother Irena Tati, mother Yelena, and his girlfriend Sapir Cohen, from Kibbutz Nir Oz during the October 7 Hamas attack, The Times of Israel reported.

However, his mother and Tati were released by Hamas on November 29 at the request of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Later Cohen was also released on November 30 as part of a temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
Trufanov and Cohen recently moved in together when the Gaza border communities were attacked by Hamas militants.
Last month, Hamas said Trufanov and another hostage with Russian citizenship, Maxim Herkin, would be among the first to be released during the hostage deal.
