Israel takes down Indian map from govt website for wrongly depicting J&K after facing online backlash

The Israeli government on Thursday (Oct 3) took down a map of India, incorrectly depicting a part of the Indian Union Territory ofJammu and Kashmir in Pakistan on the country's official website following a massive criticism on social media.
Reuven Azar, ambassador of Israel to India, said the map was taken down and called it the website editor's mistake.
It was taken down after an Indian influencer raised the issue on the social media platform X, stating, "India stands with Israel. But does Israel stand with India? Note the map of India (pay attention to Jammu & Kashmir) on Israel’s official website,” wrote Abhijit Chavda on X.
Azar responded to the post, saying, "Website editor's mistake. Thank you for noticing. Was taken down."
Later, Chavda thanked the Israeli government for the prompt response and for removing the map from their website.
