United States President Donald Trump has decided to turn down the TIME's 'Person of the year' title after being told he would 'probably' be selected this year.
"Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named "Man (Person) of the Year" like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot," Trump tweeted from his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach.
"I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!" he further tweeted.
However, Time magazine has rebuffed President's claims. The official Twitter handle of the Time said the president was incorrect about how it chooses Person of the Year.
Trump has always expressed his obsession towards being on the cover of TIME and similar magazines, so much so that he had created fake covers of it to hang at his residence.
In 2015, Trump had lashed out at TIME after it failed to name him'person of the year'.
Trump had been named TIME's 2016 "Person of the Year".
Trump's Twitter fury was the outcome of an online readers' poll that stated Trump being taken over by singer Taylor Swift and San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz this year.
This year's winner will be announced on December 6.
