Singapore coroner's court heard on January 14, 2026, that Zubeen Garg had a blood alcohol level, over four times the legal limit-indicating severe intoxication impairing coordination during his September 19, 2025, drowning near Lazarus Island. He declined a life jacket, jumped into the water from a yacht party, and drowned despite rescue attempts; autopsy confirmed drowning with no other drugs but traces of hypertension and epilepsy meds.
