The World Health Organization is pushing for a global pandemic treaty, urging nations to strengthen preparedness systems after the COVID-19 pandemic caused an estimated $13 trillion loss to the global economy. WHO also says an additional $15 billion per year is needed to ensure the world is better prepared for future outbreaks.
