The political and legal confrontation in West Bengal intensifies as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) faces sharp criticism from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The controversy centers on ‘green files’ seized during recent ED raids, prompting a multi-party legal battle at the Calcutta High Court involving the TMC, ED, and IPAC.
Mamata has accused the federal agency of politically motivated actions, stating, “But this paper was our paper. You forcibly snatched it from our house.” She has also called for mega protests, framing the crackdown as a political vendetta ahead of upcoming polls. Meanwhile, the BJP questions who she is trying to protect, and the Congress has expressed concerns over the handling of documents during an active investigation.
