As the Iran-Israel-U.S. conflict intensifies, military planners are grappling with a growing cost and capacity dilemma in modern air defence. Iran has deployed large numbers of relatively low-cost drones and missiles, which can be produced in large quantities at a fraction of the price of the interceptors used by the U.S., Israel and their allies. Analysts note that it can cost millions of dollars for each interceptor missile fired to shoot down Iranian drones that may cost only tens of thousands, creating a resource imbalance in prolonged conflict
