Turkey formally approves Finland’s NATO membership

Turkey’s parliament voted unanimously to formally approve Finland’s membership to NATO on Thursday. Finland and Sweden both applied to NATO in May 2022 in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. NATO membership requires the unanimous consent of all member nations. Finland passed its last test in the membership process with Ankara's decision late on Thursday.
