A severe storm last week toppled a magnificent cotton tree that had endured for many hundred years in the capital of Sierra Leone, Freetown. On Monday, a storm that dumped a lot of rain on Freetown caused one of the trees' branches to fall, but on Wednesday, another storm brought down the entire tree, leaving only the trunk standing.
