Surge in cases of drones smuggling drugs and phones into jails

According to data from the Scottish Prison Service (SPS), the number of drones discovered on its estate increased from two in 2018 to nine just in the first three months of this year. According to data gathered by the judicial and social affairs journal 1919, HMP Edinburgh has registered the most drone sightings, 11 total since 2021.
