A 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck central Peru's Junín region late Saturday night, killing at least five people and injuring more than 20 others. The USGS traced the epicenter to just west of Sicaya, in Huancayo province, at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers. The quake collapsed adobe homes, damaged a local church and convent, and left around 300 people displaced.
