North Korean leader Kim Jong Un oversaw the successful test of a new solid-fuel rocket engine for intercontinental ballistic missiles, hailing it as a “significant change” for the country’s strategic nuclear force. The engine, capable of producing nearly 2,000 kilonewtons of thrust, marks the final ground test before full deployment of what analysts say could target the U.S. mainland.
