Kenya Protests: Riots Get Ugly! | Anti-Govt Protests Turn Violent In Nairobi
Kenyans demonstrate against police brutality following the death of blogger Albert Ojwang in police custody under unclear circumstances earlier in June and the shooting of hawker Boniface Kariuki at close range by police during protests on June 18. The protests coincide with the one-year anniversary of the storming of the Kenyan parliament by anti-tax demonstrators, during which several activists and protesters were abducted and killed by police. Kenya has a history of police brutality and President William Ruto has previously vowed to end it.
