A centuries-old fishing festival has returned to Kashmir, bringing communities together in a vibrant celebration of culture, nature and tradition. Held in Anantnag, the 400-year-old ritual marks the arrival of spring as locals gather around flowing waters for traditional fishing practices, music and festivities. Organisers say the event is now also promoting conservation awareness, blending heritage with efforts to protect Kashmir’s fragile aquatic ecosystems for future generations.
