Israel’s Deepest Raid in Syria Since Assad’s Ouster

Israel has carried out a rare airborne raid near Damascus, in what reports say is its deepest ground operation in Syria since the fall of Bashar al-Assad last December.
Syrian state media says the target, a former Syrian base now used by Hezbollah, was bombed twice this week before Israeli troops were flown in.
Analysts see this as a major escalation, signaling Israel’s willingness to operate not just from the skies, but also deep inside Syrian territory.
