The conflict in the Middle East has escalated sharply as Israel Defense Forces launched a new wave of drone and air strikes across Lebanon, marking the second week of an expanding offensive against the Iran-backed group Hezbollah.
According to UN estimates, nearly 700,000 people have been displaced in just days as bombardments intensify across Beirut’s southern suburbs and southern Lebanon. The fighting has already killed hundreds of people and wounded more than a thousand, creating one of the largest displacement crises Lebanon has seen in recent years.
