Indigenous protesters faced off with Brazilian police on the 30th of May. One of the busiest highways leading into Sao Paolo had been blocked with flaming barricades. In an attempt to clear the road, police fired tear gas into protesters, who responded by firing arrows. The protest is against a proposed law that would limit the indigenous peoples' ability to win protected status for ancestral lands. Mohammed Saleh explores.
