India has launched a significant spiritual diplomacy initiative by sending sacred relics of Lord Buddha’s disciples Sariputra and Maudgalyayana from the UNESCO-listed Sanchi Stupa to Mongolia. The relics, moved with full state honours, were flown from Bhopal to Delhi before being scheduled for transport to Ulaanbaatar via a special Indian Air Force aircraft.
