France Unveils New Voluntary Military Program To Counter Global Threats

France will introduce a voluntary military service of 10 months beginning next year, President Emmanuel Macron said, in the face of what it views as a growing threat posed by Russia. Now France is not alone, Germany pledges 260,000-strong army. Poland and the Baltics ramp up defence. Europe’s biggest rearmament since 1945.
