A serious foot-and-mouth disease outbreak has killed over 200 mithuns in Arunachal Pradesh's Dibang Valley in just the past month. Acheso village has been hit hardest, with more than 90 deaths, followed by Angrim with over 50. The disease has since spread to East Kameng, Pakke-Kessang, Papum Pare, and several more villages, prompting the state to deploy expert teams and issue a statewide advisory.
