The prospect of a downgrade to France's credit rating is growing stronger. The latest comes a year after President Emmanuel Macron was warned that the country's credit rating was under closer review. Debt levels remain stubbornly high at about 110% of GDP. That puts the standards set by S&P to maintain its rating to the test. Nearly twelve months after delivering a negative view, it has set friday as the deadline for an update.
