Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi was in Sri Lanka over the weekend to mark 65 years of diplomatic ties between the two nations and during his two-day visit Colombo sought to reschedule its huge Chinese debt burden. Now, Wang Yi came at a time when the South Asian nation is crippling under an acute financial crisis with inflation at its highest level in decades.
