Deep in China's remote Taklamakan Desert, satellite images have revealed something startling: a full-scale, three-dimensional replica of a US Navy Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, built for missile target practice. It's part of a sprawling complex at the Ruoqiang test range that includes mock aircraft, a 37-kilometer rail system to simulate moving ships, and even replicas of Taiwan's Su'ao Naval Base.
