Asian Games events underway nine days prior to opening ceremony

The Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games have officially begun with Qatar defeating Iran 59–35 in men’s basketball, nine days before the opening ceremony. The 20th edition of the Games runs until October 4, featuring more than 17,000 participants across 43 sports.
